(this is a bit unrelated to the song itself so feel free to skip this one!) - there are specific lines & symbolism used in the second verse that are inherently political and confronts important topics very directly & vocally (i.e, the inverted flag, the line: ‘āina get taken for kālā’, etc.) : : : my q is, 1) what was process like when deciding you wanted to include these messages in the song/mv (if there was a process to it) 2) as young & influential people/artists, do you consider advocacy + activism important to your own identity (as a group or as individuals)? if so then in what ways?
