SUBSCRIPTION CHANGES (Update) (Patreon)

In short, changes to the billing that I announced earlier, will go ahead on September 19th.

You probably noticed that billing changes did not take place at the end of August, I checked in with Patreon support they said the following: 

"We had intended to migrate you (and a batch of other creators) over to the new billing model last week. However (you may have heard) at that time we also encountered an impactful issue where one of our payment processors was erroneously rejecting patron payments. This incident was unrelated to your case, but it did divert much of our payments team to work to resolve that issue. As a result, the schedule for billing migration has been pushed back a bit-- The new date for your billing switch is now set for September 19th."

I want to let you know that I'm changing the billing system of my Patreon from “Per Creation” to “Subscription” billing. This will take place at the end of August 2023.

You don't have to do anything, Patreon staff will handle everything. Your account will be transferred to the new billing system automatically.

I have been averaging 4 paid updates per month for the last year.

So that means if you are in the Supporter Tier right now, you pay

$2.50 x 4 updates = $10 per month on average.

With the new Subscription billing, your Supporter Tier will be charged $7.50 once a month, besides the lower price nothing else changes, you will be receiving all the same benefits you are used over past years. On top of that with the new billing model, there is an option to buy a yearly subscription and save even more.

So here is an overview of future pricing, after end of August:

• $1 per month: The Donation Tier will be just that no benefits besides good Karma
• $7.50 per month: The Supporter Tier, will be what you are used to, HD artwork sketches and stories.

Once the dust has settled with account migration, I want to expand support tier options to:

• $3.50 per month “Budget Tier”: These will be just finished images in standard definition, with no extras like sketches and work in progress.
• “Super Supporter Tier”: not sure of the pricing yet, something in the region of $10-15 per month. On top of benefits like behind-the-scenes first looks and early access to products. I see patrons in this tier having the option to vote on character design and story decisions, this will become especially relevant when I start game development next year.
