Monster girls with the upper half of a human woman and the lower half of a long snake are but one subclass of a wide variety of village dwelling species which often stick to their own kind. Occasionally, an outlier personality may choose to depart from her home with the intention of slipping into human civilization, preferring her independence over the safety of being in a collective. They are quite intelligent with a high aptitude for learning, but may also be prone to picking up just as many bad habits as they are good ones.

Having mastered the use of the shadows, they are often apt at hiding their long serpentine bodies while luring their prey towards them. Increased size has not hindered this ability in the slightest, leading people to consider the hypnotic nature of a wobbling belly as part of casting this illusion. As such, they have been increasingly used as a part of sting operations by the local police force, particularly to avoid scandals from interspecies takedowns. Their deceptively large bulk has been an asset in building breaches and the rapid apprehension of small to mid sized targets where they swiftly wind their long lower bodies to pin them down.

Exposure to such a stressful life in the public safety department has naturally evolved a trauma response in keeping with their serpentine origins. As such coiling is often associated with taking down prey, they have developed a natural desire to eat directly afterwards, often consuming with gusto and barely affording themselves the time to chew. Ritualistic eating like this is normally only conducted once per day but due to the number of arrests which may occur at once, has resulted in a significant increase in total food intake.

This has naturally impacted the amount of body fat a majority of female lamia officers have put on in a startlingly short amount of time. Regardless of their size, they remain stalwart and dedicated to their duty, often citing the added bulk providing them with a cold resistance never before seen in a poikilothermic species.

Conversely, an interesting observation has been made of some individuals actually overheating in the winter months from the sheer effort of having to wiggle their sizable bellies in order to complete a round the block beat. These individuals have since been relocated to more clerical roles where refrigerated foods and airconditioning are more readily available in order to provide them with a break and to encourage a more natural reduction in appetite during an expected hibernation period.
