If Daryl were attracted to Beth, then my reaction would be Axel learning Carol wasn't a lesbian: "My, my - this is interesting". But neither Daryl nor Beth are attracted to each other. Daryl simply has a hard time looking people in the eye during tender moments. Beth has made him open up, so his shy nature surfaces. Beneath all that tough, hardened exterior is a gentle man, something he does not often reveal. Daryl sees Beth as his little sister, and Beth considers him a close friend. And while Daryl was exhausted, he sat there for so long because he was broken. Beth who had allowed him to hope that his friends were still alive had simply just vanished under very strange circumstances. His mood is quite understandable. Bob is genuinely playful, and I appreciate his inoffensive frankness too. He is not a drunk. Rather, losing two groups and being the only survivor has certainly taken its toll, and his alcoholism allows him escapism from the guilt of being the only survivor. I imagine that survivors in this kind of scenario would feel guilty for not doing enough to save their fallen comrades. Even Rick experienced that back at the camp in Atlanta and beyond. Maggie's love for Glenn when combined with her stubbornness can make her really tough. And to be honest, Sasha has every right to be afraid. The unknown is not a light matter. Daryl does not exist in the comics. Norman Reedus convinced the show runners to continue with his character in the series. I won't tell you who died or survived in the series, but in the comics, Carl and Andrea (Rick's eventual partner post-Lori) survived while Judith died when the Governor infiltrated the prison. He chopped off Rick's hand and shot a fleeing Lori in the back. Lori was carrying baby Judith. Lori died from the gunshot and her weight crushed Judith beneath her. He then captured Michonne and proceeds to torture and brutally rape her. When Michonne broke free, she drilled holes in his body, removed his eyes with a spoon and then left him to supposedly bleed to death in revenge.

Phew! That's good to know about Daryl and Beth 😁 Now that you mentioned Daryl having a hard time looking people in the eye during tender moments, it explains so much. Oh wow, the comics sound brutal 😱😱😱 We thought the show was brutal, but compared to that, it's relatively tame 😅
