Hey There Patrons!

We need help deciding how to watch the Demon Slayer movie Mugen Train! A couple of you gave us some insight on when to watch it, and we assume it doesn't matter too much, as we're going to be seeing it all anyway. Regardless, we wanted to let you decide as a group the best way to approach it.

Our intentions as of now were to keep all movie reactions for you here on Patreon, but this one is a special case as it sounds like it covers the events of actual episodes of the series. Plus I think it's a heavy hitter in terms of views on YouTube. BUT we're willing to keep it here as an exclusive if you all decide that's best!

Although released later I do think it best to watch ep 1 before the movie. I wouldn't be too concerned about the rest, as the movie and other episodes both cover basically the same thing.

i'd usually say watch the order it was released, but since EP1 is anime original (as in this never was shown in the manga), it works well as context for the movie regardless of order, EP1 makes the movie even better than it was

If episode 1 was meant to be watched before the movie then it would’ve been released before the movie. There’s a reason it wasn’t and it’s simply because it’s watching it after the film is a better experience. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Yes, the Mugen train movie replaces 2x2 to 2x7, but, there are very minute changes, which you can watch in your own time in one go, it would not affect much. Also even though I m Patreon member, I would suggest releasing in youtube, otherwise you will miss out on a lot of views. But keep in mind to keep clear of copyright strikes, if you want you can split your patreon vid in two for YT. I wud have said to go with first option, but people search for mugen train, not 2x3, 2x4 etc in youtube for new youtube reactors.

the reason for it is that it was not significant and there are some changes in the episodes for netflix in which the whole world watches. Most of US watches on Crunchy or pirate sites etc. Netflix episodes have some colour optimisations which takes further time than Japan release.

even the hashira arc will be released in movie form in theatres. but there will be break down episodes later.

It makes more sense to watch Episode 1 before the movie because if you watch the movie first then a lot of the anticipation is gone.

sure, the movie was released first, but episode 1 also literally takes place right before the movie starts, so why wouldn't you watch it? considering it does make the movie even better as you get context.

honestly, just watch the first episode, as the movie starts at the end of ep1, then watch the movie, after the movie go into season 2 ep 1.

Watching episode 1 after the movie makes you appreciate rengoku so much more.
