We are super conflicted about this! We're going to leave it up to you guys here and our Discord community on what we should do. We are enjoying the English version but a lot of people are commenting saying we are missing out by not watching the show in Japanese. Let us know what you think please!

At first I thought subbed was mostly for the people who're really into it. But after watching Anime for 15-20 years I realized it was worth acquiring the preference for subbed because of how terrible the voice actors are for dub 🤯. Even Demon Slayer is bad. But it's a preference after all! I believe most watch dubbed though but we'll see.

It's really down to personal preference. If the voice acting is decent, dubbed makes sense for anime.

For a long time, I preferred dubbed just because I didn't want to read. Still, I can't go back after forcing myself to watch an anime in subbed. 90% of all dubs are poorly made and cast largely because Japanese animation studios are either unaware of their Western fans or choose not to care much. Dubbing companies make a lot of dubs and not the original studio themselves, which causes many issues with translation and getting the intended emotions of the scenes across properly. Additionally, the English voice actors are likely much lower budget because there isn't much thought that an English-speaking audience would be watching as largely as they are.

Highly recommend sub, especially for demon slayer. In my opinion the dub just doesn't compare for this particular show

You could also try re watching some of the episodes in sub and make the decision yourself. Also, from a "business" standpoint you're likely to lose views if you choose dub. I've seen reaction channels watch the dub for this show and I always see comments about how they were so excited to watch the reaction until they found out it was dubbed

Thank you! That's good advice actually! We are conflicted because of the business standpoint lol I can tell that we would have a larger audience if we switch. It's not a big deal to switch over, we're just not used to it and don't want to miss any details because we're reading! Not sure if that's usually an issue.

I've heard people say that before but I personally haven't had issues reading the subtitles before. Either way you'll probably get used to it after a few episodes. 99 times out of 100 it's safer to go with sub because dub watchers aren't as picky and will probably still watch the reaction if its subbed, but sub watchers will actually stop watching a reaction series if it's dubbed

i just want to add that i know that the poll is losing for sub. but it is a very small sample size. i saw someone brought up business, don't care. enjoy it best for you im just saying the emotion in the japanese voice acting is next level and english dub just sounds so fake. and i also saw a concern from you about missing stuff cause ur reading. believe it or not youll miss less. after about 2 episodes of it it will be normal. just rewatch the first episode subbed and... not even the whole thing, skip the slow parts if you feel like it. just my thought. ill watch either way. p.s if you watch more anime good chance that they are only good in japanese and this is a good introduction to that

Thank you! We did actually re-watch ep 1 and saw what everyone means!! We ran the poll on the discord as well. Sub ended up winning and we've already switched. 😄

Sub news brought me here. Thank you for giving it a shot. Glad you noticed and found difference it made enjoyable enough to switch over. It can get divisive with some over the top reasoning. Filtering out the emotional/nonsensical reasons, I've found the credible points not to be(besides the major one, preference) things such as issues with reading fast enough or feel distracted, all fair. Seems like you've had some even handed responses and a poll steer ya in a way that aligns with how I enjoy this art form. Was enjoying the youtube reactions anyway as ya'll can be goofballs while also attentive demonstrating emotional intelligence at the same time. Soon as I saw the reasoning for the switch after trying it out and it was like "ahh snap" they're gonna "feel it now" haha. Community seems dope so far and can't wait to see what other franchises ya pick up later! *cough* hunterxhunter *cough*haikyuu lol
