Yeah Sukuna talking about breaking Yuji's soul is meant to be taken figuratively. Also no spoilers just clarifying a few things. Domain expansions are supposed to be extremely rare. Most sorcerers do not have one. Also in regards to Sukuna not killing Mahito, remember he only has 2 fingers at this point, so he's most likely weaker than Mahito.

H&K, are you two watching the new opening in episode 14? I just watched it, and there are some things that could be considered spoilers since they’re new or haven’t been shown before, but it’s pretty light in my opinion. *Could someone share their thoughts or opinions on it

Excellent reaction as usual - loved the Nanami flashback. A small correction to your analysis of the domain expansion scenes here. Obviously no spoilers in the explanation: In the cursed womb episode we discovered that a domain can be created, but in that ep, the domain was just the 'area' created, it wasn't imbued with a cursed technique, it was just the weird space without any effects - I think Gojo explains it soon after, he said that Megumi understood that, which is why he took swift action In the Gojo's eyes episode we remember Jogo saying most sorcerers would have burned to ash the moment they were in the domain - that's cause he automatically imbues his domain with his fire-based technique, so merely being inside would expose people to it Mahito's cursed technique (without getting too deep into it) is that he can physically touch and manipulate your soul. Therefore in his domain (the area) is automatically imbued with his technique, and thus merely being inside causes Mahito to automatically make contact with the person's soul, without Mahito needing to physically touch the person. Nanami said it himself - being in the domain was basically like 'literally' being in the palm of Mahito's hand, but Mahito has to choose to use 'Idle Transfiguration' So it wasn't that Mahito cast his technique and it hit Itadori when he broke in - it was that the moment Itadori broke in, by the fact of being 'in', Mahito is automatically touching Itadori's AND Sukuna's soul, which is absolutely forbidden lol. Pretty sick scene, pretty sick resolution to a dire problem

I advised they wait until episode 20 to watch it. It’s kind of hard to skip the opening in JJK since they can’t just start the full length reaction after it because there’s often episode before it, so I mentioned they might just want to look away during it, that way they can still enjoy the song. The spoilers are pretty mild, but definitely more blatant than in the other more cryptic openings.

A final note on the opening, I love that it starts and ends with Yuji sleeping, and this time after the sorcerer picnic that Junpei has been with him at this whole time, when we cut back to Yuji going back to sleep, he’s crying. So this whole time that sorcerer picnic was a dream Yuji was having about bringing Junpei back to the school with him, which is why Junpei was there from the beginning as other characters were gradually added in. So heartbreaking!!

hell yeah, halfway through the season! the nanami and itadori moments this episode are wonderful. i appreciate their relationship so much, especially considering that nanami is one of the only adults in this show that respects itadori as a person but still remembers that this is still a kid who is his responsibility, and who deserves guidance and protection. love your ending discussions too, as always!
