Now I finally get to explain why I wanted you to watch the opening all along. Junpei is at the sorcerer picnic scene next to Itadori from the very first episode! Even before characters like Nobara were added to the scene. When I was first watching the show, I had been waiting from the first episode for this character to appear. He seemed pretty important since he was there from the start and it focuses on him. So when Junpei was finally introduced, I thought oh, good, we finally have our last member of the main cast and just took it as a given that Yuji would get through to him and he’d join the school, since he’s even wearing the uniform in the intro. Then this episode happened, and I was so devastated. Never have I seen an opening be so well utilized as part of the storytelling. I’m so glad you watched the opening from the beginning because I just think it’s brilliant. There’s even more to it that gets added in the next episode, so make sure you look for it at the very beginning and end of the opening. Thanks for watching it! When Kiss first noticed Junpei I was a little afraid you’d think “oh, no, I’ve been spoiled!” and be upset, which would be totally understandable, but I couldn’t exactly explain why it’s not a spoiler without that being even more of a spoiler. 😅 But I can at least let you know that the next opening, which starts in episode 14 has mild spoilers but should be safe to watch starting episode 20, while the ending is spoiler free.

Though, I will say that the spoilers are pretty mild if skipping the opening is difficult for the full length reaction. Or you can just jam out to the song and not look at the screen too much. JJK often has scenes before the opening song, so it’s not as easily skipped as other shows.
