Luffy's brutal honesty at it's best! I love that moments when Luffy seems heartless, but then turns out to be so awesome.

This is why I don't like Vivi she is too naive to be a ruler. A ruler must risk the lives of their people, I would not want my King or Queen to risk their lives as it would bring danger to the country as a whole. I also grow to dislike her the more she cries. Tears are an expensive luxury in the desert, a luxury she spends ironically believing in a utopia of her own. No one did anything wrong so no one should die. No one did anything did anything wrong so no one should thirst. No one did anything wrong so no one should suffer. A world devoid of hardships is also devoid of good people like Toto-ojisan, King Kobra, and others you'll soon meet. Hardships make really good and really bad people, but a utopia makes nothing of its people after all their is no ambition in excess.

Ok, shout out to all the 'older men' who're somehow like a father figure in OP. Zeff, Genzo and Toto are so loveable and I always cry at their parts 😭🩷

Luffy getting to heart of the situation. He might not understand everything (or barely anything lol), but he understands what lies in people's hearts

Nick

The forward counting threw me off LOL

Ben Asay

Luffy's emotional intelligence is amazing

In my opinion, Luffy's talk with Vivi is one of the highlights of the arc. I think seeing Toto trying so hard to dig up the oasis in Yuba made it click for him. Vivi was trying to solve these issues as peacefully as she could. She wanted to talk down the rebel army and deescalate the situation. But that does not fix the root sickness of the nation. Just like Toto, who tries over and over to find water only to have his progress erased by the next sandstorm, the Strawhats' journey through Alabasta has been a lot of work for no real results. The only way to solve this issue is to solve it at its source: Crocodile.

Monkey D Luffy

lol, you are unable to accept there could be people of different kinds. There is no set convention for a ruler.

Fold

I love her as an individual not as leader with responsibilities to others.

Pepperoni Pony .

The Bananawani is a mashup of Banana and Nawani which is the Japanese for crocodile, although they're often just called as 'wani'

IronHeartedDevil

I wonder if they are going to put luffy's equality fist into the live-action version xD

I can't wait for you guys to get deeper into one piece, this is still just the beginning.

That’s why I was saying before that the Alabasta filler shouldn’t be skipped because it’s all extended time with Ace. As anime only viewers, I don’t really see the point in only committing to chapters from the manga. It was animated for reasons of filling in blanks that the manga didn’t satisfy. I personally think anime-only fans should just watch all the episodes including filler. With the exception of different reality filler episodes, like the episodes in fuedal era Japan, etc. Those episodes are skip-worthy, but other filler episodes are great fun for anime-only watchers. Though it’s 100% cool if you don’t want to react to them, I still think you should watch the arc related fillers on your own time just for the joy of the show. And I really really really hope that you guys watch and react to the G-8 filler bc it’s a really great mini arc that shows certain crew members showcasing their abilities with certain crew member team ups. Can’t say any more bc of spoilers.

RAMbot

Wait… episode 102 had introduction to the poneglyphs. That’s really important for the WHOLE series. Who is saying to skip all of these episodes???? Lol

DTLA

seems like YOU'VE been missing them saying that due to the length of the specials they will do each of them on a friday.

Roadery

Its a filler poneglyph because its not in the manga. The poneglyph has no meaning or connection to the story at all, and since there are only 30 poneglyphs total, its a big plot hole that the filler creates. Better to be skipped and let them be introduced the way Oda intended

Tyler schmall

I'm with ya, I have watched the series over 4 times now and I watch all the filler as well, most of it is good imo.

RAMbot

I see. I still thought it was fun to add to the mystery of “whoa, what is that?”. Plus, that skipped episode was cute bonding time between Zoro, Chopper, and Luffy.

Youcef Karrache

Yeah yeah , i just watched the 28 ep reaction and they mentioned that Thanks anyway

HeartlandHunny

To me it really depends on the filler. The filler arc between Loguetown and Reverse Mountain should be skipped in my opinion because there shouldn't be such a delay between leaving Loguetown and getting to the Grand Line. However, there's a lot of good filler that I think add to the story, like the Usopp focused episode in Loguetown, and I think 102 is a nice supplement, giving us some more time with Luffy, Zoro, and Chopper. On the flip side, there is a part in that episode that contradicts canon and could confuse them. The other filler that they've skipped I think makes Alabasta drag a little more than is ideal, so I understand them skipping it. It's hard to keep everyone happy when it comes to filler. I don't think they'll skip G8, though. Only dyed in the wool manga canon only folks would call for skipping G8. It's too beloved to skip.
