They were listed as filler and we decided awhile back that we would skip filler eps for times sake. We make sure and take advice in order to make sure we don't miss any important scenes though! Hope you can understand!

In my personal opinion, they are not as important episodes, but it does help build the word of alabasta and show some of the consequences

Its a good decision. Even now the episodes are sometimes up to half filler which sucks because they are usually the most eyeroll-y moments. Like Luffy getting lost twice in 3 episodes, both were filler

Filler and they're correctly skipped. There are enough canon episodes to get through so skipping fillers unless there is something important in a few minutes (which happens sometimes) is very sensible

They actually goof up the world building of alabasta in some of the filler in this arc. Alabasta is one of the rare moments where skipping filler isn't just because the quality downgrade.

It's a situation where during canon there is a flashback to scenes in that arc. Consider it in the same vain as most of the movies.

I know these are Vivi's episodes, but I would have been happy just watching the boys. The boys were barely in it and yet they were my favorite part.

It's crazy watching the episodes again. I know that most of Ace's content are fillers, as in the Manga he left the strawhats just before destroying the Baroques ships (last episode), so I felt like the birds were fillers as well. But I knew they met Lashes somehow so I looked it back in the manga and the birds are actually there D: Also the anime is spoiling itself. If I remember correctly, you shouldn't have met either Corsa, nor Peruh and Chaka at this point (in the manga) - so it's a bigger revelation that Corsa is the leader of the rebell army and that's why there are only silhouettes of Peruh and Chaka shown.

Skipping filler is fine, but have you considered watching it without filming just for the sake of not missing any world building and character development? For example here, it’s not important at all, but it gives you more precious time with Ace 🥲 Also, please don’t skip the G-8 filler arc! It’s a fun mini arc and many fans loved it. I want to give more reasons why not to skip that arc, but I can’t without spoilers.
