Not relevant to the story but Golden Week is a holiday in Japan that is basically a week of a bunch of holidays one after the other. Nothing really to do with Gold as the name suggests.

It has kinda come full circle for me w/ Vicky the Viking lol, it was technically the first anime I ever saw (German-Japanese production), just to find out a decade later that it is also the reason my fav anime/manga exists

Yeah the 1976 original is/was pretty big here in Germany (until it was recently replaced by a 3d remake) and one of my favs as a kid, but I think it only aired in a handful of countries in Europe (& Japan).

I loved 'Wickie und die starken Männer' as a child. It was so awesome to hear that my favorite series to watch in very young age was Oda-senseis inspiration on writing a pirate themed series that is my favorite series since many years and will be my favorite for all times :)

Fun Fact: so you’ve been told Golden Week is a series of holidays in Japan, from what I understand the closest comparison we have is Spring Break, but in the original 4kids dub of One Piece they changed Miss Golden Week to Miss April Fools (which I don’t hate). The 4Kids dub is a mess of censorship though, for example they replace Sanji’s cigarettes with lollipops, wines become juice, and guns get replaced by contraptions even Wile E. Coyote wouldn’t use.

Really nice timing, because Golden Week starts next Monday. For many annual running manga publications and anime it can mean no issue being released/episode being aired that week, but that's not an iron-clad rule or anything.

I just read this week's chapter and luckily there was no break announced, so there is still a chance for a new chapter next week. I don't know about the anime, but I don't care about the anime right now.

Funnily enough the word "Kyojin" is japanese for Giant/Titan. So Attack on Titan could easily be translated as "Attack on Giant", which is kind of funny to think about. Whoever translated it to Titan instead is pretty smart though because I don't think that would hit the same lol
