Great reaction. I could feel the genuine disgust at the aerial titan assault, which was well deserved. Without giving anything away, we’re meeting new characters, obviously there has been a time jump, and also the show changed animation studios for the last season. So some things and people may look different due to the time jump and the new animation style. Just like with the rest of the show, the little details matter. Looking forward to the rest of the show

Same here. I wanted to see the old crew and had little patience for all this new stuff. But now that I've seen the whole show, this episode looks pretty damn good on rewatch

I think that’s the point though. I like how it feels the story just picks you up and drops you into a totally different show with some things that resemble the old show: Armored & Beast Titans, Pure Titans, Eldians, etc

I’m sure it’s already been explained but here goes Year 845 - Shiganshina was attacked and around the time Eren gets his titan. Year 850 - Battle of Trost and Colossal Titan shows up the second time. Months later in the same year is when the battle in Shiganshina with Reiner, Bert, and Beast Titan takes place where they were defeated. Marley is unaware of what ultimately became of the female and colossal titan. Year 850-854 - Marley Mid-East war is taking place during this time. The Mid-east alliance believed that after Marley had suffered a devastating loss against “the island devils” they believed it was the best time to strike Marley. Especially since it was reported that 2 of their valuable titan shifters were captured. Currently we’re in year 854 and Marley has just defeated the last bit of resistance the Mid-East Alliance could gather against them. Also why Magath had said it’s been 9 years (9 years since the INVASION of the island and not 9 years since their defeat to the Eldians) As always I LOVE your guys reactions and super looking forward to more 😊😊

So I hope one of you took the chance to head over to Costco, or Walmart, to buy some tissues because there will be some STRONG emotional moments. Idk if this was ever confirmed but a popular theory about those who were dropped from the plane was that they were mentally disabled in some way which really amplifies the disdain Marley has for Eldians and just how evil that nation can be.

Along the change in animation studio since S4, the show also changed main composer which for the rest of the show will be Kohta Yamamoto instead of Hiroyuki Sawano, who still worked for some episodes but wasn't the main one anymore. Yamamoto is an equally fantastic composer so I hope you enjoy his work.

To say S4 is a roller coaster would be an understatement. The story is really going to take shape and test your ideology of good vs. bad & right vs. wrong. You both seem very open minded based on your reactions so looking forward to hearing your thoughts as the season progresses. Personally, I think that's what makes this anime so good is that it's hard to predict where it's going next. Not sure if anyone mentioned yet, but just like in S3 where it was recommended to watch episodes 16, 17, & 18 back-to-back S4 has two sets of "trilogy" episodes. Would def suggest watching episodes 5, 6, & 7 at once and also 19, 20, & 21. Also, loved the polar opposite reaction to this episode. Kiss is crying her eyes out while Titans are falling from the sky and Haylo is trying not to jump out of her seat with excitement because of the OST & animation!! Just a perfect example of how this show hits everyone differently.

Marley deserves a lot of criticism, but its hard to find a side in this show that doesn't deserve a lot of the same criticism.

Great stuff. Its a whole new show now that we've been to the basement. Kiss, you're fine to feel disgusted at what we saw. I don't want to answer any questions- like why do the Eldians fight for Marley? I'm certain you'll figure it out if you haven't already. It's crazy how much you guys pick up on. I don't know any two people that can fully agree on whats to come. So please don't worry about voicing any controversial thoughts. Buckle up!

Kiss, your emotions make you human. What you just witnessed was horror, some of the worst of humanity. It’s absolutely sickening. I remember watching this for the first time and was just so confused by everything going on. You two caught on pretty darn quick! This is why I love watching you (besides the fun moments) because you guys are so smart and pick up on everything! This season gets insane, can’t wait to watch along with you!

Like you said at the start of this episode, you can both love and hate AoT at the same time, and this episode quickly proved your point!! xD lol One of the things that makes this show so great is how it can make us feel all different emotions. Also the music is so epic, and the way it is timed in each scene is too good. I hope you guys enjoy this season, don't worry too much about taking notes during the episodes. You cannot prepare yourselves for what is going to unfold 😁
