One of my favorite developers has been Don't Nod ever since I played through the original Life is Strange. Subsequently, I even have finished every single game from the developer. As the world waits for Banishers, their next big title recently shown again at the Summer Fest, Don't Nod also managed to release a smaller-scale game.

Harmony: The Fall of Reverie is essentially a visual novel and not much like the other works of the developer, however, it's still expected to be strong in the narration department and features player choices. Would I like it? I'm not sure, but I knew I had to check it out.

My first look was into the demo released a few weeks ago. That's when I realized that my work on The Light in the Darkness being the gateway to UE5 hasn't been in vain, as I was able to put the findings to use in the Harmony game as well. Totally unexpected though, because how often do we see a visual novel benefit from expanding the view? The backgrounds are usually static and limited in width. There are some in this one, but there are also fully 3D scenes.

Lastly, of course, I had to test the findings against the full version, but as with Halls of Torment (and my unreleased fix for System Shock), the demo findings were sufficient. And as it goes, now it's all about ensuring that the fix lasts through game updates and promptly adapting it if needed. Download in the usual place!
