⛤ April Q&A (Patreon)

hi there! Thursday night/Friday morning here. I am sitting down after a calming bath  recovering from a stressful day to answer your questions because I have this hunch that this is my one chance before the month is over. In the next couple of days I have to sell some fudge, prepare paranormal stories for a stream, write a grocery list, write several instagram posts and work on several new videos, all while cooking and cleaning and catering to the senior kitizen's every whim and staying hydrated and exercising and minding my diet. It is a delicate balance, trying to do all the things. when I made my new year's resolutions, I doubt I fully realized that staying on top of everything means I have to do everything, every day. so I've been working to get used to a higher workload and because I am generally a high energy person it's been working out okay. the physical exhaustion is getting to me, though. I dream of being as capable and strong and determined as my ideal self in my head. for her, all these things would be a breeze! whereas I don't seem to run out of things I 'just have to take care of real fast before bed'.

so I'll get your questions out of the way first before the real work starts. 

Do you like Scandinavian cuisine? I don't think I've ever had Scandinavian cuisine, unless you count the meal of meatballs I had on our honeymoon in Denmark. those were delicious. I also really liked the sweet pickles it came with. didn't know pickles could be sweet. all I ever got in Germany was dill pickles. what dish would you suggest I try to get the most authentic Scandinavian experience?

Ally lately I’ve been considering to reach out to my estranged former godmother and inform her she’s forfeited the right to call herself that. Was wondering if maybe I could hear your opinion on this? I would need a lot more context to give any semblance of a useful opinion. has she upset you in any way? unless she has done something you can't get over, I don't see a need to reach out to inform her that you no longer agree with her previously determined role in your life. it is fairly normal for people who don't live close together to become estranged. I don't even know who my godparents are! and by this point, it wouldn't matter. a godparent is someone who has accepted the responsibility to care for someone's child in the event of the parents' death. once you've reached your country's legal age of maturity, this commitment became irrelevant, as you no longer need care. unless this topic comes up in face to face conversation, in which case you would have every right to set her straight if she should insist on calling herself your godmother, or, heaven forbid, use that title to try to manipulate you, I would leave it be.  

Ally I’ve recently watched the patching you up video and was wondering how you created the red light background? RGB lightbulb. some people seem to think the colored lighting in my videos are created through filters - they are not. I wish I had the editing skills required to change the lighting in post this much. Then I wouldn't have to spend days figuring out how to light every single video. But that's my secret. It's all RGB lights. 

Where about are the best locations/what kinds of stores carry the rocks, crystals, and gems you use in your videos? I got my expansive rock collection from various sources. if your town or the next biggest town over has a hippie shop, they surely carry a small variety of crystals. the next best source would be etsy if there's nothing close by. you can find almost anything on etsy and it can be shipped straight to you. specialized mineral shops are a great source, but are far and few between. and if you don't mind traveling for goods, gem and mineral shows will usually have a wide variety of less common to rare gems. sometimes rock handlers even sell their leftover stock at flea markets and antique malls! hope this helps. 

What gifts did you get for your birthday? oh, I already forgot I had a birthday. I've been so busy that at this point it feels forever ago. I got DLC for two of the games I play, a tattoo and 5 bottles of soju. quality > quantity.
