⛥ December Q&A (Patreon)

Happy New Year! I sincerely hope this year will bring lots of blessings, growth, good fortune and opportunities for us all. I also hope that you were able to catch a break and recharge your batteries after the admittedly exhausting holiday season. I, for one, went into full hibernation mode last week. My first day back at work didn't go so well as I stressed out almost instantly and wasn't able to be productive so now I am working through the resistance and chaos all around me blocking my work flow. I feel like we should just all be granted two weeks to just eat, sleep and be lazy in the middle of winter. It's only natural. It should be socially acceptable to rest, reflect and reboot. So much happens beneath the surface when we rest. As the earth sleeping, she's not idle - she's preparing for the coming spring. As should we allow ourselves to go to sleep so we may be renewed. In this palo santo scented cave, I, too, could go to sleep right now. But the cramps are keeping me awake so while I wait for the 1200mg ibuprofen to kick in I thought I'd try and answer some of your questions. 

Did your cats let sleep at night or where they like ”come play with me I’m so bored”? My cats were both very laid back and slept through the night, except for Leo who would wake me up in the morning to lift my blanket for him so he could crawl under and snuggle with me for an hour. 

Have you watched a spinoff to Buffy the Vampire Slayer called Angel? I've seen a few episodes here and there but it wasn't that interesting.

Do you have a favorite kind of cuisine? I love all food equally and I appreciate variety. But I'm not sure y'all realize how much I love food. Whenever you hear someone raving about how much they love food it's like "ok Nancy who doesn't tho" but I mean it's absolute ecstasy to me. Especially if I get to eat what my body craves. Like the organic burgers I made for lunch. Or dessert. Yesterday I made my first ever batch of caramel and I've just been casually licking at spoonfuls of it ever since. Some of the finest sensory pleasures I ever did feel. 

Do you have a special method for coping with immature and bad people? I just avoid them like the plague, especially nowadays when they are likely to come as a package deal! R.I.P. all the brain cells I lost from having to work with absolute morons. Some people just don't seem to emotionally mature past high school age. I'm just as lost when it comes to dealing with such nuisances as you are because any concerns you raise will just be met with the same shitty attitude they've been displaying all along. It's like they're allergic to taking anything seriously or incapable of grasping the concept of basic human respect or something. 

Did any of your cats snore in their sleep? No, but my dog did. And very loudly at that. But he had an anatomical disadvantage so what can you do, right?

If you were an actress would you rather perform on theatre, in movies or both? I think I'd rather be in movies considering how many do-overs I require just to be able to put together one of my ASMR roleplays so I'd have more leeway there. In fact, I find it exceptionally challenging to remember my lines in roleplays but that might just be due to the fact that I also have to navigate the camera, audio and set at the same time. It might be easier if I didn't have to constantly watch all the other stuff going on while trying to act and perform. Doing a whole production team's work by myself is taking up a lot of brain power in the moment so not a whole lot is left for... uh... talking I guess.

What eye color do you have? Hazel. But if you want to be exact it's dry moss bleeding into dulce de leche. At least that's what the separate colors remind me of. 

Have you ever tried dance classes? If so what kind? I've never taken dance classes as my crippling social anxiety has me convinced it sounds like an absolute nightmare. 

What’s your favorite Christmas food? Hands down my auntie's Christmas cookies. I never enjoy dealing with family or unannounced visits but damn if I don't have a soft spot for her homemade cookies. My auntie is so good at baking there are probably rules against it in some religious groups. 

What languages do you speak? Just English and German, though I am very interested in learning Spanish. 

Do you by any chance make your own hand lotion? No, I only make magical anointing oils that I use for my skin and hair.

Have you ever had a prophetic dream? I hope not. I'd be very worried if my dreams turned out to be prophetic as they are always very chaotic, bizarre and abstract. I hear some people have hyperrealistic dreams and I'm just like... How do you tell dreams from reality because literally the only way I can tell what's what is that my dreams make no fucking sense in the 3rd dimension whatsoever. When it comes to analyzing my dreams I heavily rely on my feelings to make connections, otherwise there's no hope for them lol. 

Do you have a favorite film music composer? No, I've never really bothered to look up who composes the music for movies I watch. 

Have you seen The Perks of Being a Wallflower? No. If it isn't horror, thriller or sci fi there's a good chance I don't know it exists lol.

It is quite old, but have you seen "The Count Censored" on YouTube? It is a humorous 2min sesame street song with a single word bleep-censored. A fun clip for couples to watch together and good for de-stressing. Please avoid watching while driving, drinking, or eating.  Never seen it. I'll suggest it to Jack some time, sounds like something we might enjoy laughing at together.

I’m curious Ally, recording exterior videos must be quite the project for you, carrying the equipment, finding a perfect location to record, setting everything up etc.? Yes, it's quite the ordeal. The hardest part about filming in a public area, no matter how hidden and remote, is all the people walking by constantly, talking, commenting on what you're doing and generally being distracting (not to mention the dipshits actively trying to photobomb). I was lucky I was able to do the shoot for Down by the River over two days because I had to do so many retakes. And being outside, the lighting changes fast enough that you only have so many attempts. Truly, a race against time.

Have you ever ridden dressage? No.

You said you worked in a hair salon before. Did you get to both wash and cut people’s hair? I was in charge of hair washes, scalp massages and making coffee. Since I didn't have a beautician license, no one actually let me cut hair lol. I did assist with color fairly often, though.

If comfortable answering, did things work out alright with the interview? Yes, once I actually got to the interview part it all went swimmingly. Everything else leading up to it was a tad chaotic but it was successful in the end. I was approved on the spot and received my visa this week. The real fun part begins now!
