Merry Beltane everyone! I hope you're enjoying this wonderful day no matter the weather. It's always a party with gods and spirits around and I will be spending my day making offerings and recovering from burnout. Though I'm a little low on energy, I still want to be catching up with things slowly but surely. My disability carer brought me a beautiful bouquet from her garden yesterday which I have put on my personal altar as it fits the season perfectly.

I think this is what I enjoy most about life and people. The little surprises. Just giving people things because you can and you feel like it. I equally enjoy being on the giving and receiving end of this. Because in the end it's all about the things you don't have to do. Necessities sustain the body, anything beyond that sustains the soul. It's just as important as physical wellbeing.

With that I would like to thank you for giving me money and sustaining both - and answer your questions for the month of April.

What’s your favorite book? I don't have a favorite book. I'm one of those people who could easily say whatever I'm currently reading is my favorite book because it expands my knowledge beyond anything it has been before and I love and crave that sensation. Some of the ones I still think about are one book I once bought about how to protect yourself from psychic attack. I picked up a few unexpected techniques from that one, including that using body wash with real rose extract (I use the one by fenjal) provides protection from negative energy and entities. Also that Celtic spikenard is apparently the best domestic protective plant we grow here (in the Swiss alps). But it stands to reason American spikenard would have the same effect. And generally anything with thorns has protective properties. That's one of the reasons why I have roses on my altar at all times. You normally see them associated with love and lust and beauty - no one ever thinks about their protective attributes. Another book I still think about a lot is a novel I read about some guy who was apparently dead and just wandering the world. He was quite funny. One of my favorite chapters was when he visited a tavern and asked for a piece of "that hog you're burning over the spit" ... The server responded with "That's what we have to do to ensure it's dead before you eat it." and the guy was like "Nice to see you're meeting the same precautions with your bread." I have a pretty sassy sense of humor as you can probably tell. And then the server came back with some pork and was like "Here, poke it with a fork real quick. If it squeaks it needs to go over the fire a bit longer" and I never laughed so hard in my life. Because at the time books were my whole life, I feel like I'm telling you about an event I witnessed. What happened to these books? Well, I lent them to people and never got them back. I stopped lending people books lmao.

Since we don't have a ton of questions this month I want to give you a bit more reading material by telling you about more really neat witchcraft tips and hacks. We are already on the topic so why not?

Did you know that to collect moon water, you don't have to have moonlight shining directly on the water? The requirements are merely that the water is outside in the path of the moon to absorb its energy. That's how you can also make dark moon water where the moon isn't reflecting any light from the sun. Naturally, the moon phase will affect the spells you are doing. That means you can still collect moon water if it's overcast! If you're a low energy person or struggle with depression you can add a few drops of moon water to your tea or coffee to take in some energy. Just make sure you're using purified or distilled water in a clean container to inhibit bacteria growth. Or use it in cooking to energize your food. Rain water is said to be equally as effective. As is snow water. I'm looking at you, my Canadian patrons. You can make a simple spiritual cleansing solution with just sea salt and moon water, like I have done in my video Of the Moon and Waters. It's how I recently cleansed all the dolls of my patrons from the Cosmic tier before putting them in a fresh jar.

I don't know if you ever considered this but you don't have to burn an incense stick all the way down. Especially if you're using it therapeutically, in a small room or apartment it's plenty to just let it burn for 5-10 minutes and put it out. That way you can save money by using a single stick multiple times.

Freezing your candles helps them burn longer and purifies them at the same time.

If you work with deities, most will enjoy offerings of flowers and homemade food. Especially female deities seem to enjoy sweet treats. But just like with people it's always worth more if you made it yourself with your love and energy.

If you pick up willow branches to use in your home, leave them to dry in your home for at least a few days, then twist them in opposite directions on either side and the bark will come clean off. If it doesn't, leave them for a few more days. The hardest part will be picking bark off the eyes but it's still a lot less work if the bark just slides off like a used condom. I couldn't come up with a better comparison at the minute.

Do you have any siblings? No. There's already enough of me in the world

How is Jack in this time when shit is hitting the fan again in the US? He is fine. He has adapted to the pandemic by going grocery shopping very early and he works from home so he has no real reason to speak to anybody. Besides, where he lives there aren't a lot of infected people running around like there are in big cities with airports. Aside from not going to get groceries as frequently, his lifestyle hasn't changed much. Google is still a thing and still needs people to fix the internet. He still spends his days with me and his noisy cat. All in all, nothing that's going on is affecting him in any major way. I think the hardest thing he deals with is my mental health.

Those were the 3 questions we had this month and if you have more questions you can always post them under the May Q&A which will be available here shortly. I hope you have a wonderful May and stay healthy and safe even if the world opens back up this month. Blessed be
