Let's talk about the new video that's been consuming my time and energy for the past two weeks.
If you've been craving some magical ASMR to abolish your fears when you sleep, you're in luck. This video was inspired by whoever of you told me you need to feel safe when you sleep. I am no stranger to fear, paranoia and nightmares (something with my hormones because I tend to have nightmares when I don't eat dinner very close to bed time). Thankfully none of them are ever as bad now as the ones I had at 16/17 (because they're not demonically induced) but it still sucks to lose sleep and not be able to go back to sleep until dawn for being alone with my paranoia. For that, I have created The Nightmare Banisher (currently rendering the long version.)
Aside from containing a powerful spell to dissolve fear and nightmares, it features quite a few awesome triggers such as smoke/smudging, charcoal crackling, layered whispering/speaking, hand movements, playing with rocks/clinking, burning herbs, breathing and head petting... Did I forget anything?
This is my first time working with my brand new 3dio and also my brand new computer that Jack got me for Xmas last year. It's pretty powerful and the fact that it can render a two hour video with 95% glow filters within a couple days is impressive! The 3dio sounds fantastic but I'm gonna have to have my recorder looked at to see if the white noise can be fixed. On the fluffy duchess (old computer) it didn't bother me as much because the laptop's audio settings are very bass heavy and tone down the static noise a lot. But when I switched to Duke (new computer) it was like ... e_e why are you hissing at me? I will be taking it to a repair shop next week but for now I did what I could with capping the high frequencies where most of the static is at. I find that it makes some of the triggers less overwhelming, especially when they're layered. Does anyone else get sensory overload from ASMR sometimes?
This project required several different sets and shoots aswell as a full Hollywood grade voice over and sound effects which is why it took so long to complete. I'm very upset that it's so noisy in this house in the middle of the night that everything I try to make requires a voice over by now. But also I think this will be a great skill to have for the videos I want to make in the future. After all, the great outdoors is seldom quiet and it's generally easier to travel with just a camera to worry about rather than camera, recorder, microphone, external battery for the recorder and 25 tripods (est.) That's why I don't mind it so much now even though I would prefer my work to be easier when it can be. It's an adjustment and it means I can't make as many videos but I have total control over the quality that way. You won't hear anything that I don't want you to hear.
I can't wait for you to see what I've done. Every shot is quite aesthetically pleasing with the dark, mystical imagery. There are triggers to relax you, magic to protect you and my unconditional presence to help you get back to sleep. The video should be up within the next few days with the rendering, uploading, writing descriptions and posts. I hope you will love it <3 I just wanted to put this teaser here to let you know I've been very busy creating a masterpiece
