It's almost exactly a year now since the old video and it was about time for an outdoor shoot! This time I didn't have time to hike obscene distances to find a spot so we're close to home, by the spot where I like to watch the highway. I didn't expect the tall grass but it worked out. My main concern was finding a spot on a Friday night where people would be less likely to interrupt. But truth be told, I didn't think about the old video at all while making this. I made this video purely because I wanted to name it that. I couldn't resist the hilarious lyric satire. That's it. That's the whole idea. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, it's Lana DelRey's Summertime Sadness. Su-su-summer goth, summer goth chillin'...
As you can tell, the sun is setting fast during the course of the video and I keep having to adjust the exposure. The grass moving in the wind is pretty soothing. I'm trying to think of more things I could do outdoors because it's fun and invigorating to be in a different place. So far all I've come up with is drink because it's legal lol. Casual conversation because I just talk about random things until I run out of things to talk about and fill any silence with eating or drinking. And of course, that's about the one hour mark again. I may try to attempt to do something with a view, like I have last year which didn't work out - nature is finicky though and coming into decent weather is rare. And with my sleep schedule it's a race against time, too. The best I can do is sunsets. So I hope you enjoy this one, all cozy in the grass, with sparklers and everything.
