Detective Richard Jordan had got himself into a very sticky situation. Trailing a gang that he had been after for several weeks, he had fallen into a trap. Jumped on from behind and chloroformed, he had woken up bound and foot… and stark naked! He had had little time to wonder if the gang had just left him like that or if they were still around – one of the gang members had suddenly appeared, roughly gagged him with an old cloth and forced him to stand up.
