Something a little outside the norm. I'm here to collect some input on my style, and directions I could potentially head with it.

For a long time, I've thought about injecting some kind of retro anime aesthetic (think 80's/90's anime) into my art, similar to what I've done with the Sailor Mars drawing from a while back. How far I'd lean into this, I'm not sure. But the purpose of this post will be to gauge whether or not there's even much interest in me doing something like that.

It could be something as simple as adopting stylistic traits from more classic anime, it could be as simple as using retro filters with my current style. I don't really know yet.

I wouldn't be changing my artstyle entirely if I were to try this. Especially not overnight. But if you guys want to see me experiment, or if you don't, please let me know in the comments.

There's a good chance I'll give this a try regardless of what the prevailing sentiment is, but I also want to see the public opinion.

If you have additional thoughts, please leave them in the comments as well.

I always love 80s/90s anime art style :)

Go for it man, your artwork is still gonna be super awesome!

I think a more 90s anime style added to your current art style would look very nice! Considering the times you did it, like the Salior Moon pic you mentioned!

Honestly, all game for this. Could be fun to try varying levels of retro-ness in your pics, so... experiment away!

I honestly think it depends on the series, whether or not you incorporate it, so I'll safely go with no What I myself would recommend, is actually look a pictures of the girls your drawing, as from what I've noticed, all the girls faces cycle between the same 3 to 5 facial styles. I truly feel incorporating more of the original character's design when you draw them fat will look great, and give each girl a unique feel

I think it sounds like a good idea. But only do it if you really want too. I’ve seen artists before try to change up their style or emulate others too quickly and just burn themselves out.

While I find your current style amazing, I am also intrigued to see this new filtering to future work. So, I guess experimenting will add variety, so go for it.

I say if you want to try a new style go for it. After all art isn’t just about making the ones who view it happy it also about the artist themselves being happy about it. Thus go forth and experiment! We will be here for the fun ride 😁👍!

I absolutely adored your Sailor Mars pic, and I'm always interested to see artists experimenting with their artwork! I say go for it ^^
