Some slight changes (Patreon)

I have become very unhappy with my choice of names regarding the Colosseum culture in Korrovan. Therefore, I have decided to rename a couple of things. Those are the new names I will be using from now on:

Colosseum = Rings of Samsara.
Gladiator = Rana Samrat.
Lanista = Vakara.
Ludus = School. 

The reason for this change is mainly that I didn't want to mix the cultures up. Korrovan is primarily based on medieval Indian culture, while all the terms surrounding the Colosseum (Rings of Samsara) are Roman in nature. 

Let me know what you think of the new names.

Overall idea sounds good, but for the replacement for gladiator Rana Samrat sounds more like a place name for me. Unless it was chosen as it has a meaning similar to gladiator in Indian culture I would consider replacing it with something that’s one word as that would sound more like a title, at least imo.

I have to say I'm rather disappointed by this. Not the naming per se, but rather the fact that you are trying to map regions and culture from Earth onto specific regions here. One of the strengths of this story to me has been the fact that this isn't another isekai story where everything is done in relation to the MC's prior life on earth, but rather a full fantasy setting. Obviously there will always be crossovers and inspiration coming from Earth since that is obviously all of our common reference point, but if it goes to the extent that "this name is wrong because the region is Indian" I think you've taken a wrong turn somewhere on the way. Names are important obviously and if you're writing a Xianxia story you can't very well have the MC's name be Jeff (and I'm not talking isekai here). In this case however, I think you should rather think about what these specific names imply. Gladiator is a term that every reader will instantly understand. People have probably fought in arenas for money and entertainment during all ages, but being a gladiator was a full-time occupation where even the Roman emperor would visit and act as a judge. Same thing with Colosseum, this is also mostly widely known as THE fighting arena, but in this story I'd say you could go with a more generic term as well, such as Arena or similar. When you go down to more specific and less-known things such as Ludus being the term for a gladiator school, I think you're going too far in that direction. I believe just calling it gladiator school or something would give an instant understanding while not specifically tying it down to Roman gladiators. Maybe this got a bit long, but it just feels like you're turning yourself in a knot to keep it "authentic" while, unfortunately, making the story worse instead.

The thing is that the words "gladiator" and "colosseum" are not general terms at all. They are heavily linked to the Roman Empire. For example, I have been using the word Colosseum pretty much synonymously with the word arena. However, that is simply not what that word means. The term Colosseum refers to that one specific building in the center of Rome. It is literally the name of that one building. That is like calling every palace a 'Taj Mahal'. Do you see where I am going with this? As for linking every region with a specific culture, that is something I've been doing since chapter one. The empire, for example, is clearly German-influenced. Every single name there is German. That does not mean that their history is copied or even similar to real-life Germany, of course. But I wouldn't just start naming characters Zhang or Hong, either. This is kinda how I feel about the Roman names in an Indian-influenced region. I hope that clears up why I am doing this.
