As promised, here's the full timelapse video, cut down to half an hour.  This video is stitched together from multiple sessions over the span of the last few months.

I thought it'd be fun to include a window in the corner showing some of the references I was looking at while I worked.  Most of the material was gathered via Pinterest & ArtStation, though you'll also see an incredibly cursed 3d render that I did not record myself setting up - that was done shortly after I began coloring the piece, using multiple copies of Reika's 3d model to quickly recreate the composition in Blender, allowing me to experiment with light positioning without having to constantly paint over my work.

I wanted to emulate the vintage camera feel of this render from Seungmin Kim's "Black Witch" project (which is based on this illustration by Sangsoo Jeong) - but I ultimately wound up taking the piece in a different direction.

Unfortunately there's no audio. Hopefully I'll have something figured out for background music next time. With all that aside, I hope you enjoy!

--Edit: I went back cleaned up the editing, cutting out dead time and adjusting the speed to be more consistent across every session, ending up with a run time of exactly 30 minutes.  There were a few other miscellaneous issues I cleaned up as well - plus, I gave the video a proper thumbnail.

How long did it take you in total?

Rivie

Going by the amount of footage - 14 hours and 27 minutes. With the additional work gathering reference and blocking out the scene in Blender, I'd round that up to 15, maybe 16 hours in total
