This turned into a very frustrating piece to work on.

Sometimes a drawing will come together really nicely and I barely even have to think about it - the sketch for this piece was one of those cases, but as soon as I tried to add color & lighting, it turned into an aggravating process that had me constantly feeling like I'd ruined what was good about the sketch.

Thankfully though, I think I've reached a point where things are starting to come together and the lighting on the characters makes sense.  There's still a lot to figure out with the background before I start cleaning, refining & detailing everything, but I feel like I finally know what I'm doing with this piece now.

I have been recording the process the entire way through, so there will be another timelapse at some point.
