32 pages of an A5 sketchbook

Le Roy Licorne is the beginning of a tale that I wanted to tell. I didn't draw the beginning, I went to one of the most interesting moments, so for for those who want more lore, here's the story:

The cosmogony of this universe revolves around Unicorns. They were the ones who once helped the trees to grow, taught the birds to fly, cleared the sky when it had rained enough, gave humans something to cover themsleves with at night and eat during the day.

The higher the Moon was, the more powerful they were, and when the Moon disappeared to prepare to grow again, they went into hiding to regenerate. The more time passed, the more discreet they became, changing their appearance, learning the languagues of humans se well that today everyone thinks they were only legends.

Pensé (Rose's name in this AU) is a young prince raised in a splendid caslte. His mother the Queen disappeared when he was born and it was her favorites and companions (all women) who raised him with unconditional love. They taught him everything: History, languages, dances, swordsmanship, nature. Only Pensé is not allwoed to leave his room during moonless nights. And that is a good thing because he always feels very strange during these moments.

During one of this nights however, he was lured outside and as soon as he crossed the threshold of the royal garden, a stranger in an armor grabbed him and carried him away on a white horse.

Pensé woke up, lost in a huge abandonned castle where time seems to stand still. His kidnapper tells him that they means him no harm and that he must stay here until further notice. At first frightened, then curious, he begins to want to get to know his captor better, who weems to know legends of Unicorns very, very well since they tells him one every evening and every morning.

Then begins a Stockholm syndrome in good and due form. However, between their little interactions, Pensé doesn't even seem to have noticed that any Moon no longer shines at night.

Sidenote: I haven't decided Uzore gender yet. I like to think they're actually agender. By the way, I hope you liked this character! :)

All my OCs have a different name when they are part of a fantasy medieval AUs: Rose becomes Pensé, Aimé becomes Orpra and Gonzague (I promise I'll introduce him to you one day! ) becomes Uzore! Surprisingly Guerlain often remains Guerlain.
