For quite some time I have been considering making some major changes to my Patreon in order to allow me to produce more comic pages. I have been wanting to work more on comics since I have so many things planned for Book Club, Randi, LFM, etc. and I feel like 2 pages a week is just not enough for me to get to all of what I want in a reasonable time. The problem as always, is time. I want to transition to 3 pages every week, but in order to do that something has to get cut.

I simply cannot produce the same amount of artwork every month and add in roughly 4 comic pages on top of that, so in order to free up that time, I am considering the following changes:

  • Cut the Woman of the Month and Bonus Pics completely. I may transition to a single poll based pic each month, possibly OC or Parody, but if time allows, I will still do one of each. And if possible things like the Bonus could return, again if time allows.
  • Secondly, I am considering cutting back on the amount of requested sketches I do each month in order to make more time for comic pages.

I have been thinking about this for a long time and I am eager to make more comics.

If I go ahead with these changes, they will take effect in March. February will still operate as it has in the past.

Any feedback you may have is greatly appreciated.

UPDATE

So, I've been thinking a lot about the Patreon Restructuring and right now, this is what I am thinking.

  • Cut down to a single pinup each month, chosen by Patreon Poll, to make time for more comics. Patrons of all tiers will be allowed to vote.
  • Produce 3 comic pages per week.
  • Comics will no longer be posted publicly as they release. They will be Patreon Exclusives until they are completed. Once comics are finished, they will be made available for purchase as PDFs. And then after some time, I will start posting the lower resolution versions publicly.
  • Monthly Pin-ups will also be Patreon Exclusives for at least a month before lower resolution versions are released publicly.
  • The Itty Bitty Tier shifts to $3 and becomes early access for pencil and sketch versions of comics and pin-ups.
  • The Knocker Tier shifts to $6 and becomes early access for inked versions of comics and pin-ups.
  • The Double D Tier stays $10 and becomes early access for color versions of comics and pin-ups. The Sketch Requests stay the same as now.
  • All Comics and Pin-ups will be posted on Patreon in High Resolution for all tiers.
  • All sketch requests and supporter rewards will still be posted publicly.
  • At least for now, no changes to the Bazongas or Bra Buster tiers (except you are now getting early access to things).

These changes would all still go into effect in March. So next month is still as it currently is.

Feedback is appreciated.

I approve of all of the options! More comic pages yay!

do you think this change will be a permanent one or do you just feel you have so many stories to tell right now that you need to get them out of your head and onto a page?

karmagik

I have so many things that I want to do for all of my comics that I imagine a change like this would have to be "for the foreseeable future." I easily have several comics worth of content for each of my original comics, Book Club, LFM, Randi, Double D, etc. I think in general, both in my preference and in people's view of me, I am a comic guy more than a pin-up guy.

Alphamine

Will this affect tier rewards?

karmagik

It may affect some tier rewards. I am considering overhauling the Bazongas tier. I need to be able to find ways to cut some time from somewhere, and requests are an area that I spend a lot of time on each month. Right now, Bra Buster tiers should be unaffected.

Joel Connell

My tier is Bazonga, so does that mean I won’t be able to have anymore supporter rewards if you get rid of it or will you make another tier to make up for that?

Robert B.

Sounds good to me. I'm all for more comic pages.

MagicalDrop

I really like some of your comics so for me it's a good decision.

Remo Williams

I do like the comic pages. But, I'm also at the Bazongas Tier. So, I'm curious on how that will change.

karmagik

The Bazongas tier is one I am considering changing. The $10 tier will of course still be available. But as of right now I am considering cutting changing the Bazongas tier to something else. I have not decided the details of it just yet, but I will definitely send a message out to all supporters of that tier with details of how it will change.

Yeah, I like making them. I am really into comic pages way more than pin-up work and I feel like that's where I should be devoting more of my time.

Tinhy

I feel the same way. With the stories you putting out there, i feel comics should be your priority.

Joel Connell

Thanks for answering my question.

I am all for what keeps you happy and unstressed when doing your art. As long as I get to see something with Randi each month I am a very happy supporter. Comics have been fun to read but I am partial to the ones with Randi in them.

karmagik

More comic pages means more Randi comics faster. More of every comic faster, but that includes Randi. I still plan on focusing on one comic at a time right now, so there won't be a new Randi comic page every month, but moving through other comics faster means that the Randi comics will occur more frequently.

Jariah Synn

Randi, LV, DD Ranch, Book Club are my favorites. These changes mean more of them? I'm All In as they say. Also sounds like more time for the creative juices to replenish. All In for that too. 👍🏿

karmagik

Yeah, these changes mean more comics in general. I don't think there will be a major change to the amount of time I am working on things, I am basically cutting pin-ups and replacing them with an equivalent number of comic pages each month. They take about the same amount of time to work on, so its close to an even trade.
