SizeCon 2020! A Recap in Many Parts (Patreon)

It's been a few days, a few needed days of recovery and getting back to normal life, and I want to try to capture as much as I can before it fades into a broad, sweeping beautiful foggy memory.
I've been to every SizeCon so far, and SizeCon means more to me than I can ever say. SizeCon is where, in 2016, I presented femme for the first time and started my transition journey. SizeCon is where I learned to embrace and love my rich, dark fantasies, and to open up about everything with my wife and later others, too.
SizeCon literally saved my life. Without it, I might not have my wife, my kids, and definitely not the amazing existence I have today. I very well might be still presenting as a man, lying to everyone I know, and cripplingly addicted to roleplaying online because of how desperate I was to be someone else.
Now I am that someone else. I'm exactly who I was always meant to be and SizeCon helped me find that.
So that's the perspective I carry coming into SizeCon, and why I'm so passionate in my support for the event.
Anyhow, I started things off the right way by picking up Goddess Rei on the way. We'd met at the second SizeCon and she'd offered me friendship and support, but we'd never really made time to talk. Starting off with a few hours of excited conversation and reflection definitely set the tone well.
There were maybe a dozen people setting up when I arrived, but the first one I remember was Em31. I'll always feel a little bit of a special connection with him, because at the very first SizeCon he was the first person to approach me and talk about loving my work (which is a feeling I still can't get over every time it happens, even four years later). He does some absolutely stellar collage work, and is also just an all around wonderful human being. He also brought his whole PC setup and a green screen and was doing collages on the spot! Here's my personal favorite from the event, but definitely hit his dA if you're not familiar.
Raquel Roper also reconnected with me almost immediately. I'd had the chance to talk to her for a while at the second SizeCon, mostly because my roommate was an extremely passionate fan, and as an obviously incredibly gorgeous and talented producer and performer, it made a huge impact that she took so much time to talk with us. Back then she'd mentioned starting her own studio, and since then she's definitely been doing amazing things. Vore Vixens is definitely a thing, and she also does an incredible amount of high quality work with so many fetishes.
Her passion for what she does and the community around it is inspiring and infectious. We talked about the tough origins of our kinks, about parents, anime, roleplaying on Gaia Online, and so many other awesome things that just kept me laughing for literal hours that she would spend checking in throughout the event. She's also the one that gave me advice and support when my Youtube got shut down last week, and she also gave me a ton of advice about equipment, producing, and everything else I could wonder about. I knew I appreciated her after the last convention, but damn do I full on love this woman and what she does.
Before long I'd reconnected with some of my favorite writer friends. Aborigen and Taedis are two authors that I've met at previous events, and I deeply admire their professional dedication to size fetish fiction. Taedis and I were drafted at the last moment in 2016 to moderate all of the event's panels, and we've had a connection since then, while Aborigen and I emailed back and forth for a while and I just simply fell in love with this man's passion, wit, and drive.
Taedis and I have shared a table for the last two events, so once we'd set that up to satisfaction, we joined up with first-time congoer Robclassact, who was absolutely brimming with charm and also does some really cool things with creating rich, deep characters and imagining their daily lives. I haven't checked out his "Ordinary Girls" project yet, but I find the idea fascinating and definitely will.
We headed out to grab some Chinese and talked about all kinds of things, but the main topic that stands out in memory is the occasional absurdity of researching size elements for our stories. How long does it take for a 3,000' woman to walk across the continent? How is she affected by weather patterns? Where is the cloud layer? How tall is wind?
We ended up back at the hotel bar chatting and half-watching Smackdown while we struggled to find people who could find liquor (there was apparently no bartender working, and if anyone's particular about their drinks it's writers.
Addison Sinclair joined us at the bar not too long after that. I literally cannot say enough wonderful things about this precious human being, but after my expected roommate dropped out of the convention at the last moment, we'd talked about sharing a room and there was enough comfort and trust between us that I ended up being blessed to spend a lot of time with them over the weekend.
This was the first time that I'd arrived early, and I will absolutely do that every year going forward. Just that amazing atmosphere of relaxing with wonderful people, writers and producers and enthusiasts and fans, it was almost a microcosm of what SizeCon is really all about. We all love some crazy things, and sharing them is like letting people in on the most amazing secrets that we've been tricked into keeping bottled up our whole lives. There's nothing like it.
We'll call this part one, and I haven't even gotten to the convention yet! It's such a rich and full experience that it takes hours and hours to process, but it's important to share. More soon!
