YouTube Deactivated (Patreon)
Content
This morning YouTube suspended my account. I had one strike on there for a video from 2013 where I stepped on an ant, and now all the descriptions, preview trailers and videos I'd posted are totally gone.
I can put it back together more or less, and I'm going to try to set everything up on Vimeo, but obviously a lot of my videos here were directly linked to private uploads there. Of course this means slowing down some of the content I was working on, and it's also the absolute last thing I needed four days before SizeCon, but I'm going to work as hard as I can to get things moving in the right direction again.
Thanks as always for supporting me and helping keep me going. This is a huge blow, but we'll get through it.
Update: Exploring Vimeo for hosting video previews. Full videos will likely migrate to a Google Drive direct download model at least for now.
Update 2: Vimeo closed my account already. After talking with some other people with a lot of experience with these things, I'm working towards hosting videos on Pornhub. This obviously isn't a decision I take lightly, considering that they're notorious for unchecked piracy, but they're also the only platform that isn't likely to delete my content and also have a model in place that will allow me to take control of stolen content that's already floating around on the site.
I started the first wave of uploads tonight. Streaming links in my old posts will likely remain broken for some time, as Patreon is pretty restrictive about what can be embedded, but direct download links will remain active and I will work on creating new streaming links ASAP.
