I said I'd try to limit cat pics, but made zero promises about "singing to my cat" videos. I'm not the world's worst, but certainly not the world's best singer, so I'm somewhere between "I'm sorry" and "you're welcome" for sharing that.

I'm also neither the world's best nor worst mini painter but I was going to go batty if I had to look at her anymore so I'm done with the Duergar Stone Guard!

She looks better from a normal distance but I'd rather y'all get a close-up so here we are.

Love,

Jen

Hey jen how do you get the primer smooth.

mz4250

well this was on a resin printer so the striations already weren't too bad, though I'll admit they're still visible in the photo. I just painted on a light coat of gray vallejo primer. If you want to fill in PLA print lines Miguel does like this intimidating chemical stuff called XTC 3D BUT we were recently turned onto a primer/mod podge mix by The Crafting Muse and have had some luck with that.

She looks really good. You do an awesome job. Clean up is WAY worse than painting. One critique I'll make. Take the flesh tone, add a little darker paint of a similarncolor, and water it down, then just give it a wash.

as in instead of washing her in her entirety in the one brownish black, to do the face and hands in a darker shade of skin tone? I haven't tried that. I know I've seen flow aid used for DIY washes. Is water enough to get the right consistency?

I do resin also and I tried airbrushing but hasn't worked very well

huh. yeah we just paint it on since we live in a tiny apartment

Honestly, I never use flow aid. Water generally works well for me.
