Hello friends! This week one of the models I'm working on is an updated Black Dragon, standing on its hind legs getting ready to spew some acidic death. This was an Adult Dragon Tier reward request. While working on it I came to realize that when I revisit my dragons, I should pose them differently to add more variance.

So in the future when I retouch my dragons, along with tweaking the details on the originals. I'll also make secondary versions with different poses. I like the idea of my Red Dragon on all fours looking regal, or my Gold Dragon looking like she's ready to pounce, or maybe flying variations! Either way it'll be a fun project.

Anyway, back to it I go. I just thought I'd share a fun idea with you all. Keep being amazing and happy printing!

Thanks! It won't be for a while but I'm excited to get started.

Flying versions would be awesome! Nothing more satisfying than bringing Death from Above on your PCs!!! Muhahah!

Indeed. They'd be a challenge to print though. At least as one piece. I might have do do them modular like the big Ancients.

Thats awesome! Can’t wait to see the updated dragons especially the draco-lich!

Oof. My Draco-Lich is DATED. That's probsbly going to be the first one. With different heads too.

Wonderful. Your black dragon is my favorite print I have done. Is it possible to make wings a bit thinner?

I love how you make new pieces and revisit old ones as you learn new methods. You're doing some beautiful work. It has really made 3D printing flourish as a hobby for me, especially as something synergistic with my love of RPGs and D&D.

omg i was waiting for your dragons revisit so much! i really love your work. if you are thinking on variations, in my opinion it would be great if you could make a folded wings options for both easier print and less space that the model take

mz4250

Folded wings would be a nice touch. Maybe I can make it modular so you can swap wing styles. I'm not very good at making modular pieces fit exactly, thus all the sanding and glue needed, but I'll do my best when the time comes :-)

This is mainly for dragons (but also for most of your models really), if you did put up versions without bases it would be really useful. Currently I just cut the bases off all your models, which is pretty easy so no big deal if you don't, but I cant open anything over 25MB in tinkercad :P (Yeah I know I should get round to using a better 3D modelling program). It also get tricky when the model drops below the base/wraps round it etc (If you are wondering why I print with no bases its because it makes them much easier to paint and for basic bases I just print black pla bases and superglue them on) Thanks for your continued awesome work :)

Hello! I appreciate your feedback! However this is why I share the Blender files. Open the Blender model, select the base, delete it, then export the model as a new stl, and you're set :-).
