(LORE TEXT) Vanilla's siblings questioning why their Summer Brother is leaving Mother Tree so often. (Patreon)
Content
Vanilla Summer's the eldest born in summer season. He's a tower that can revert back to his base form (000). His sister, Redeaf Summer an overprotective sister, part of the insta monkey mechanic. Unfortunately, the upgrade is unalterable, when she upgraded once to the 005 form it didn't let her change back. Meanwhile, Cotton's outgoing common resident of Mother Tree (---).
Druids' last names are based on the season they were born.
"Hey, fathe--... guardian Obyn told us to follow brother Vanilla." Redeaf, a 005 undeployed Tower towered over a shorter Druid beside her.
"Follow, you mean stalk?" Cotton replied as she skipped through one of the bridge that connects multiple trees inside Mother Tree.
The two sisters had their disagreements, Cotton Summer and Redeaf Summer. Two sister Druids born after Vanilla. They'd been told by Obyn to follow and find out why Vanilla was in and out of Mother Tree everyday. Obyn was worried since one of the other sisters/brothers noticed this. But in hindsight, there was no need to worry since Mother Tree wasn't showing any worry, especially when Vanilla was one of the strongest first-born from Summer. However not everybody is invincible, there was once a case when Vanilla was stuck under the rocks after being dive bombed by a Moab, Mother Tree almost fell ill when that happened. Fortunately Vanilla was saved. Despite that the Guardian of Druids couldn't help but worry.
"Let's just ask to come with him."
"Err... ok then."
Druids even though the majority of them are born from a flower, they are united. Almost as if they're connected to one another. They can somewhat sense the emotions of their brothers and sisters but not as strong as Mother Tree does.
-ARTWORK (1st and 2nd)
The three siblings arrived at the town that was near Monkey City/Capital. Redeaf and Cotton can't help admire the architecture that was laid before them. Even when Redeaf have seen familiar during defenses, but those were times of defending not admiring. Cotton was the one astonished the most since she was out of Mother Tree's vicinity for the first time.
Cotton felt comfort around the Alchemist while Redealf felt the contrary. Redeaf thought of the feeling as 'don't take my brother away.'
Once the aroma entered the dining room, Vanilla's head swung to where the smell came from excitedly.
-ARTWORK (3rd)-
The majority of a Druid's life, they would only feed on fruits and vegetables raw since nothing else is necessary as much. Quick and effecient per se. But now, maybe this is one of the fact as to why their brother fell in love with a Tower like Strych.
"How many have you loved before my brother?"
"4" A straightforward answer surprised the giant in the room. "4 gals... seems like fate didn't make me compatible with the ladies." He chuckled.
Redeaf knew her brother was listening while enjoying his favorite meal. She knew Vanilla didn't bring the two of them here to question his partner. But she couldn't help it. Maybe the discomfort the giant felt will dissipate when she has asked all the questions that flooded her mind.
Cotton on the other hand had been listening as well.
"None of them worked out?"
"Unfortunately no. But I am fortunate to have this dork with me now."
Dork? Redeaf must've misheard. There must be a side to his elder brother she didn't know. There is. Everyone had their secret and she was quick to accept that, even she has hers.
"What do you and brother do together?"
"He helps me with my research and alchemy. Ever since I met this hungry fella, my life's been easier. Herb gathering, searching and things as such."
"I see. But why does brother stay out late or even sleep outside of Mother Tree."
"He stays over, in our early days together, I was showing him the city... and the beach."
'Oh... the beach... the seaside, the end of land where the fishes live?' Redeaf was impressed. Only few Monkeys are able to go near the ocean besides authorized personnel like submariners, ships, aquatic beast tamers, and other sea based towers. A clear ocean is rare nowadays because of the wall of bloons covering the horizon.
Redeaf looked at the plate she was served, it looked cooked with care. Her discomfort or worry started to disappear a bit. One last question, just to make sure...
"Have you and brother tried to mat--"
Before Redeaf could finish her sentence, she felt a sensation that struck her tail, enough force that her body jumped through the ceiling. Literally. Making a hole with her whole upper half stuck in the ceiling.
"Vanilla?!" Strych slammed a hand on the table flabbergasted.
Vanilla was finishing his plate, covering his red face.
"See? You didn't have to worry about anything, Redeaf!" Cotton laughed, "Elder brother could've broken Mr. Strych's bones if he wanted to".
Strych shuddered in thought of Cotton's words. It's been months in their relationship so, he's doing good to Vanilla so far. A being can be so cute yet so dangerous.
Cotton laughed at the exchange. Redeaf accepted her fate, staying for a few moment in the ceiling. That was stupid me of me Why did I ask him that? She thought. When she had a moment to herself, she concluded her insecurities with her brother was because Redeaf just wanted to have nieces or nephews. However, despite Strych and Vanilla's case, magic existed and made it possible for the two be able to concur.
