OK, so your team has amassed such a grand hoard of treasure that they can’t put it anywhere and is looking for a safe place for storage? Or quite the opposite - are they totally broke and as a last resort looking to rob one of the most well-protected banks of the city? Either way, these maps can come in handy even if your team is risking their lives to protect their gold or steal it.

It was the wish of one of my dear patrons to have a bank heist themed map pack created, for which I got inspired by the descriptions of Abadar, the god of cities, law, merchants, and wealth from Pathfinder.

Temples dedicated to Abadar are usually large, elaborately decorated buildings designed for multiple functions; in addition to being centers of worship, they often provide the surrounding community with banking and other services. You can read about it here in more details: https://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Abadar

However, the locations included are generic enough to be easily used in another setting.

On the first map, you find a customer service hall, for which I got inspired by Gringotts from Harry Potter. In the central area, clerks and secretaries are busy doing some usual banking administrations around. (These can be gnomes, bird folk, or even lesser-ranked clerical personnel.)

The beautifully ornamented church is located on the western side of the map. Here the rich can praise their gods for good fortune, the same way the poor can pray for better luck in business / for divine intervention. (But only the priests know about the secret entrance in the northwestern corner of the church leading to the monastery.)

There is a large office for every documentation and workplaces for clerks on the eastern side of the map, normally with no entrance for customers. Under no circumstances should any visitor pass through the northeastern arched gateway leading toward the rear of the building.

There is a fortified gate leading to the areas in the back with a guardroom beside it. Many doors lead elsewhere from the marble-covered corridor. To the south, there are two offices, one of which could belong to the senior banker who is a powerful priest. To the north, one could find the hall and sleeping quarters of the arch banker. On the western side of the map, there are the rooms of the priests, with a dining area in which you have a secret passageway to the church. In the middle of the map, you find a way dawn to the vault, locked up with grates.

The vault is likewise well protected with bars. On the eastern side, there are deposit boxes, on the northern one a large entry hall with a huge vault door that is to be opened with two magical keys: one in the possession of the arch banker, the other at the senior banker. Inserting order of these keys is given and some counterfeit keys can also be found, the use of which will activate traps.

I haven’t written a complete adventure, so it’s up to you how you protect the main vault, but in the western two alcoves, you see two griff statues, which I imagined to be the stone defenders of the area. Of course, poison and other magical obstacles would make perfect sense, too.

As shown in the picture above, multiple props have been created for the map, one of them showing a tunnel dig-in. Another prop covers the stone defenders having already been activated and moved, or never having been there in the first place. Similarly, there are props for grates and the vault door in the open position.

These would have been exclusive content, but I give them out with love as end-of-the-year Christmas presents for every chaotic good patron - hope they bring you joy.

I have several plans for next year. I am nearly done with my Castle Ravenloft project, adventures are coming with matching maps, and smaller, more generic dungeon series and encounter locations.

Thank you for your generous and continuous support, the cheers, and all the advice.

Love, Tamas
