Today I bring you variations of a ruined castle, a forest version, another built on a high cliff-top, one built upon an island, and a snowy winter version.

Let's figure out the dungeon under the castle together! Something lies under the northeastern bastion. Who lives between these ruins and what awaits us in the dark passages below?  I look forward to your ideas!

I am pleased to announce that we have started converting the entire back catalog to WebM format and the new maps will now be available in this format as well, so you don't have to miss out on using animated maps in your online games either.
We're going backward in the catalog, converting the gridless version of the maps. If you want to add a grid, you can do it with your VTT’s map grid feature. Astral VTT and Foundry VTT are already well known to many of you, the files will be compatible with both platforms. I'll use the WebM Tag on the posts I'm finished converting.

This island version is exclusively available for those who have supported all three creations in the previous month. It's given out in a private message today (also the exclusives of the last month) Don't worry if you missed the exclusive folder, you can have the extra reward of the month in early January if you support all (means max. 3) of my creations in December.

Get your reward from this shared folder, find the webM versions attached to this post https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1wMo0_6JqEibmOEWiRGSPJPBI06VHLFzB?usp=sharing

Thank you for your continued support, stay safe, and tuned for the upcoming new rewards!

Converting backlog to WEBM is amazing. No more compressing them myself.

Thank you for converting these to WebM! It'll make it that much easier to use them. :)

Roll20 has a 20M cap on uploads; hopefully those webm conversions will be smaller or have smaller versions.

dynamicdungeons

The file size will be ok, but do webm files work for you on roll20? I tried many times and it never worked for me. The file size was under the limit. I suggest Astral or Foundry.

I took several of your files and compressed them small enough, and then uploaded. The progress bar didn't really move, and it took over an hour (the reliable way was to just start it at night and come back in the morning), but then they were available to drag onto the map layer. I suspect there are two steps behind the scene after upload: processing it to create a thumbnail, which should be quick, and making it available on some Amazon storage. I'm guessing it's the second which takes a bunch of time to propagate. But that's just a guess. You may need a paid membership to use animated backgrounds.

(I really wish they'd give you the option to point to an animated background on other storage such as Google Drive with a link, so that the object doesn't have to even be stored on their servers and doesn't take your roll20 space)

Example: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kyVdeF5avZxynCr5Z1eUsrypDilcne4l/view?usp=sharing (I just launched the game and took a screenshot; it's all set up for when the players step through). All told, this particular game has three of your backgrounds and one of your static images, plus the portal itself which I snipped out of another of your pictures. Personally I'm looking forward to a better compression of Infernal_Encounter, Infernal_NS_Passageway, Magma_River, and Avernus. I tend to use the gridless because otherwise I have to align the grid with roll20's grid, which is a pain. But I haven't been a patron very long, so I understand that my desires may not be at the top of your list.

So much love for the webm conversion. QoL right there <3

Another thing, could you maybe release the ambience track as an .ogg or .mp3 file for the VTT users as well?

Really nice work

You can convert mp3 or any other format easily with the Any Video Converter Free version. I have tried it. You can convert the videos without audio too.

Allow me to plug this free alternative that not only allows animated maps without problems, but also allows multiple levels of animated maps and animated standee tokens. ;) It's called gTove and I wholeheartedly recommend it. https://illuminantgames.com/

Is there anyway I can still get access to the island variant? It would be perfect for something I have in mind.

Hey! Looking specifically for the island variant of this map. Is there any way to still get it?
