I'm very happy to announce more than 2x15 new modular elements!
You won't find insects or spiders crawling across and stuff like that for now, because I wanted to make more general, neutral looking scenes to give a good reusability and to fit to any kind of adventures, just like those 3d printed tiles or dungeon pieces gamers craft of xps foam. I think this system can be a cheap but cool alternative of 3d terrain elements on your digital gaming table. Especially, digital and the physical minis and terrain elements work great together at the table!

The motion maps in these packs are only videos with no background audio, because I found the repetitions of the ambient sounds annoying in these shorter videos. I decided to detach the audio channel and give you a one hour long, more interesting dungeon atmosphere in mp3.

I'm ready to expand these packs with more basic and special chambers and hallways, feel free to comment below what scenes you would like to see in the future, I'm really excited about the ideas you come up with.

Find the pre-generated thumbnails in the archive which give you a better overview on your dungeon while building it with Dynamic Dungeons Editor.

I'm already working on the desert and snow/ice themed packs, a lava pack and modular cavern are coming soon.

As a Chaotic Good Patron, you don't need to look through all of the related posts. Download the complete new modular dungeon tiles pack (including stills and more than 30 motion maps) from here:

If you are using the Dynamic Dungeons Editor and Player, unzip Modular_Dungeon_tiles_CG.zip to the following folder:[userfolder]/DynamicDungeons/editor/resources

After launching the software this folder should appear on the left with the thumbnails.

Modular Dungeon maps for LCD gaming table or projector

25 modular elements (stills and videos) are coming to patreon.com/dynamicdungeons The Dynamic Dungeons Editor and Player is looping the videos smoothly. Additionally, it offers the advantage of fog of war. Literally started setting up to play when I got the notification. Nice. A gigabyte is a tough download though. It hasn't fully downloaded yet, but separating them up somehow would be more convenient.

Hyyyped!!! Thank you so much! I am starting an underdark campaign and was really looking forward to these!!

The final adventure of of the dnd adventures league session 8 has a maze of Ubtao that I am using modular tiles to build :D and at the end a room with a huge iron door opening as Dendar is trying to escape, dramatically changing a room from one of Ubtao life and the sun to that of Dendar nightmares and the swallowing of the sun.

Anonymous

Awesome work as always! As far as special rooms.. a room with an altar is a staple for rpgs!! A large pool in the centre of a room A room with raised ledges/balconies on the sides I’ll post more as I think of them!

I think it’s amazing that you’re doing modular things. Can you do a variety of themes? Jungle/Dessert/Tomb/Heavens Etc

Anonymous

Loving it!!! I'm most excited for the cavern set.

This is great. Thanks! I'm trying to recreate the old HeroQuest board digitally to run games for my kids. Anyone got any ideas on how best to do that using these tiles (since the HQ squares and monster positions are so specific)?

Anonymous

this is great. maybe make some rooms with 3 openings? wne, nes, etc. like the hallways

Greetings all...Help! I extracted the zip file and the folder shows up in the editor...but no images. I checked the thumbnails folder and it's empty. I'm obviously missing something!

Anonymous

Nevermind...TOTAL USER ERROR! LOL! Looks awesome, as always!

Personally i do not like or will use these modular dungeon tiles. I use your animated maps for a "Wow" effect at the table, beautiful scenery that really add something to the game, and save me a lot of time drawing a map. If i need a very bland, narrow and boring grey dungeon that actually don't even look animated, i use a flip mat. Looking forward more fantasy and fantastic creations!

These are so cool, I appreciate you working harder to give your maps more reusability. My first worry when I saw your work was that I would use it for a few sessions and then people would get tired of them, now I can use them more and more consistently. Good job again!

Looks great! Looking forward to checking these out!!

I was hoping 10.2 would allow me to run it on my PC, but I'm still getting the error that I have the incorrect version of Adobe AIR even after updating it. This is infinitely frustration. I surely can't be the only one with this problem.

dynamicdungeons

Joshua, I think this is the problem of the missing FFMPEG library. FFMPEG only works if the "VISUAL C++Redistributable pack" is installed under Windows systems. On some systems this pack should be installed manually. https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=48145 After installing the x86version, restart your system and the app. Did you try reinstalling this version of the "C++ redist"?

I've yet to get the DD Editor working so I just use Fantasy and GM forge to load stills.

Anonymous

I love that you had all the downloads in a single place!

Anonymous

I can only get this editor to load still pictures is there a way to change it to allow me to use the mp4 maps? Or do I have to find stills of everything? ALSO is there a way to up the quality? The still images when loaded look very very blurry....

dynamicdungeons

Please fill out the bug report form, the video playback also should work: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe5X2OZil5JNrqjyICm2tsAWj4pbdfGBn1BSSLuZSJ9hKPHYw/viewform?usp=sf_link When I released the rewards of the first few months I wasn’t good enough and I made lower quality videos. The newers has better textures and the best possible quality, but unfortunatelly the fullHD Resolution (1920x1080) which is supported by the TVs is simply not high enough for a sharper look. That’s why I’m experimenting with 4k, even if not many of my Patrons have 4k TV for gaming purposes.

Simply incredible!

THIS! This is the most usable/universal tool to date and I think I can speak for all of your patreon members when I say that this was a brilliant move on your part! Next suggestion would be the same thing but with caves instead of dungeons if that makes sense! Between those two we'd have a god send for all D&D + Path Finder games. A huge thanks from us folks here at Hall of Heroes!

dynamicdungeons

Thank you! Yes, the modular cave system is coming in October! Besides I'm going to batch-render all of these "tiles" with different color settings to give interesting variations with desert or fiery or acidic etc. look. It will be a free addition to Chaotic Good Patrons.

i would suguest a sci fi theme, woudl be great something like sapce hulk, or spaceship hallways and rooms!

Bruno Marcon

Hi guy. First, thank your for your great job and your fantastic animated maps, ! And thanks for supporting 4K TV :-). I use a TV to display maps for about 6 years now and I always seek new virtual ways to play RPG with my friends at home. I think what is missing actually in your editor, is to handle layers where we can put static objects like chests, library, but also monsters (virtual tokens). I have actually 6000 tokens and 8000 furniture items but I cannot use them with your maps so dungeons are a bit empty :-). A second step could be to put animated objects on these layers (animated torch for example). Finally, perhaps one day you will be able to have some tools to handle fight with monsters ! If you need help, perhaps me and some others could help you on this work !

dynamicdungeons

Thank you Bruno! The 2.0 of the player will support tokens, animations and particle effect and it’s almost ready to release. It’ll be free to chaotic good patrons.

Anonymous

"It’ll be free to chaotic good patrons." Is that the case? I haven't been able to find a place to download for free...

dynamicdungeons

Hi Tim, no sorry, at that time I planned to implement patreon login function to the app, but later I rejected it. The app is 30 USD, the upgrades are free for those who have bought it.

Hi - I downloaded the zip file but when winzip attempts to unzip I get an error - Unable to process "Modular_dungeon_tiles_CG\". The second message basically states that it is a partial file - may be corrupt.

dynamicdungeons

Thanks for the feedback. Strange it works for me. Did you try to download it with google chrome?

Anonymous

No I downloaded via FireFox. Today I downloaded via Chromium, same results. In the above instructions it makes no mention of a preferred browser to use. Also the Dynamic Dungeons and Editor directory that is installed places the program files under Program Files (x86)\DynamicDungeons-editor then there is no editor directory , no resources directory, no props directory. I believe you need to re-look at the instructions for installing the program as things have changed and look at the install instructions for this item. Or it could just be me, but I followed the above instructions and I did not change how the dynamicdungeons editor unzipped and installed. So either there is an issue with the zipped file or there is something else that is preventing the download to work. The file name is Modular_dungeon_tiles_CG.zip file size is 1,168,984 KB

I am building a dungeon crawl for my players, and I am using Editor. Is there a way to import the Dungeon_amb mp3 file so they can have ambient sound?

dynamicdungeons

The upcoming free upgrade for the editor will let you to import looping ambient mp3 files and also sound props to trigger them.

Hey! newly subscribed patreon, I've clicked on the New Modular Dungeon Tiles CG to download it, unziped it to editor/resources, but when i open editor and click on modular dungeon tiles there's only one folder titled "static_stills" and in that there's two more called HD and UHD but neither open anything when i click them. Am i doing something wrong?
