The Kickstarter is ending in just 55 hours! It's made a surprising leap forward and if you're interested check it out here! http://kck.st/2C7YTbC

That said! I know it's pretty unlikely to make it to the goal. If It fails my back up plan is to go with a different printer that can do lower volume printing at a bit more expensive price per book. What follows is a lengthy explanation that you can skip the next paragraph if you aren't interested!

Books are cheaper when bought at higher volumes. So Buying 250 books might cost around 18USD per book of this size, if you bought 500 it would cost closer to 12USD per book. 1000 would be even lower and so forth. Naturally buying higher and higher volumes of books has a higher overall cost but if you can expect to sell 300 books then buying 500 makes more sense than only getting 250 where its going to cost more per book and you'll have demand you can't fill. So the goal was to raise enough money to buy a higher volume. There is another option though which is to buy a much lower volume and hope that profits are enough to purchase another set of book to feed demand.

I do have another company in mind that prints lower volume books at a slightly better price, but is still expensive for me. I'll only be able to afford 100-125 books from this company using my own savings to pay for it, though I can safely assume I can sell at least 80 of them without much issue considering the interest in the Kickstarter.

That said, I would still love if the Kickstarter could make it, but I know I need a fall back plan and this is it. The book is being made, and I hope those of you who can pick one up will enjoy having a physical copy of my work. I do plan to release more books of AI as it comes out but in smaller books than this one. 6 Chapters in one book makes for a sizable book. From here on I think the books will just be 3 Chapters each. This will reduce the printing cost significantly and I can probably also reduce the cost of the smaller books to make them more affordable.

Thank you all!

I've heard that Kickstarters often get a huge chunk of their contributors during the last 2-3 days. So all hope is not yet lost! Especially after that pic that Tom made and posted to DA drummed up extra interest.

The kickstarter has failed sadly but i would be surprised if people from the kickstarter that had a pledge including a printed book would be willing to pay up front rather than you doing this all out of saving as that is more or less what the kickstarter was But it is up to you what you want to do

yosh

Unfortunately I am not allowed to take preorders through Paypal unless the product was sent out within 30 days of the preorder being taken. Which is impossible since it takes at least 30 days to have them printed and shipped and then I need to ship them out myself. :(
