HELLO EVERYONE IVE SETTLED ON KGHN SON DESIGN his heterochromia was too cool and made him look cyberpunk so i’m gonna limit hinata’s colours to a partial heterochromia on his left eye only~ and YESSS ive decided on a name - kageyama kaien! 影山 海炎.



changed kaien’s hair from jet black to a reddish brown hue with black shadows after googling how ginger/asian mixed babies look and they seem to have an interesting range of bright reds and really dark shades to their hair? cool!!

so here’s a little chart comparison with nao as i figure out how their character dynamics would work, map out the traits inherited from their parents, so i can start building kaien from here! while they’re childhood friends, they’re not exactly close because i do see kghn travelling a lot for games before returning to japan, while skts stays in japan the whole way. they met when they were lil kids but kind of lost touch until highschool i’m thinking.

 some behind the scenes notes: ive spent over 2 days researching for names by now and its honestly grating on my nerves because kaien and akeno really stuck no matter how i dug for more ‘natural’ local names.

kaien combines the characters of ocean/flame which is encompassed in his unique eyes and i like how it could build towards his play style (water + fire creating sort of a smokescreen, with how his cheerful and honest personality could be a contrast to his playstyle which confuses and misleads opponents the longer they play with him)

akeno i really like too because it ends with an ‘o’, like shouyou and tobio. ake meaning dawn/daybreak. with how hinata is like daylight and kageyama moonlight, their child having a name that is associated with dawn is visually beautiful to me. but lots of kghn love children have been given names with this metaphor (plus lots of sora/ake/aki/aka) and akeno is ummm… very strongly associated with this big booby girl from highschool DxD already so that’s a sad no.

so kaien is rly cool but too cool to be a natural given name or for kghn to have come up with it themselves, and akeno is pretty and encompasses kagehina well but is commonly used for girls and strongly associated with this ecchi character already.
