That's part four, not part six. Whoops! That's a literal last minute typo~ If you didn't notice it then you should feel bad too, that's how it works.

So Discovery... 4! Discovery 4, huh! Haha, so, allow me to get this out of the way. On the patreon here, I've uploaded a Discovery Part I, Part II, and Part III. But on my end in my documents, Part I and Part II are actually just one whole story. Back then, I didn't think Discovery would be a series, but just a one-off kind of story, so I uploaded it into two halves when they were complete. Effectively, both halves are just Discovery 1, and Discovery 3 is Discovery 2, and Discovery 4 is-- okay okay okay~ We'll just call this officially Discovery 4! If for some reason I ever reupload the series though, I'd definitely reorganize things a bit.

And yet this is still cleaner than how it's uploaded publicly onto giantessworld. Over there, I divided the official Part III into several parts, so it's even more complicated. But don't worry about that~ because I haven't.

Discovery has definitely been a series a lot of my readers have been looking forward to seeing continue~ I'm in that same crowd! Over the past few months since the last addition, I've had a lot of ideas I'm excited to explore. I already have Discovery 5 in my head pretty solidly~ and I'll say this much, it will be worth the wait! Originally, I was going to try and make Discovery 4 and 5 just one selection, but I ended up with so many ideas and a lot of depth to add to each scene, it ended up needing a decent rework. But I'm glad I made the changes I did, even if it did delay the release a bit~ Thanks for your patience~ Like I said, a lot of people have been waiting for this one! I hope you all like it.

This story got me thinking a lot about what I consider to be the sort of "three pillars" to, err, Cursey. Cursey writing, that is, which happens to be size fetish erotica. To me, I think my stories stand on three basic legs: eroticism, size interactions, and storytelling. All of my stories (more or less...) have varying ratios of each. I think this combination and balancing out the three is the key to producing enticing size erotica, at least from my perspective. Most of the time, the pillars support each other within a story, but sometimes, one leg has to be sacrificed for another to have more strength where it would otherwise be lacking. As a result, some stories can feel quite different from others...

"Eroticism" is the general sexiness of what's happening. This is the more blatantly sexual content; nudity, masturbation, raw sex, etc. A good erotica tends to be erotic -- so I've boldly concluded -- so when writing, I try to structure things to provide nice, sexy moments, some conventional blood-rushing material. Even if it's a little out of the way or out of character, it's worth it if it means creating an arousing situation, which is what most people came here for. Some stories don't really need sexiness added at all, but I'll still try to wrangle something together in order to keep the audience intrigued.

As fetish work, a lot of the eroticism doesn't need to be so blatant. A lot of it comes from the "size interactions" pillar, the allotment for specifically size-oriented content; feelings of size, the aftermath of giant movements, the constant shiver of being in a familiar but strange world. Of course, all of that is really important and tends to be sexy in its own right for those invested in the fetish. But I separate this from the "eroticism" pillar as these interactions can happen without it being overly sexual or heated. Simply being immersed in the world and being sold on the idea of being tiny, for example, is a major part of what makes size stories so exciting, but these details don't necessarily have to be specifically sexy or hot. In a lot of cases, an off-handed mention of something un-hot can make the experience more thrilling, as it reminds the reader that the world isn't as comfortable as they might like it to be for a fantasy setting... which, ironically, is kind of part of the fantasy! I think this part of the size fetish is really most fascinating...

And then there's the last pillar, storytelling. This covers all the fundamental aspects of writing, like plot, motives, transitions, etc. People enjoy a story if it's enthralling and rich, especially if you're into my kind of stories. More so than some other writers, I lean hard on the story aspect. Similar to size interactions, this pillar effects immersion and how bought-in the reader can get. If done well, this creates a more believable world where the reader feels greater impact, but if done unwell, the setting crumbles apart and reveals itself to be shallow, so the sexiness becomes a lot more two-dimensional.

With Discovery 4, balancing all of these aspects is quite fascinating to me. I think you can guess for yourself if you've read all four parts, but what pillar do you think Discovery leans on the most? Hm, or another way to put it... which pillar does Discovery just not use fuckin' at all it seems? The answer is that, yes, Discovery isn't very outright erotic, is it? More so does Discovery have strong storytelling and a focus on size interactions. Straight-up sexiness is pretty restricted, and for a fine point...

This is definitely a slow burn series, haha~ And I think it all will pay off! Discovery 5 is absolutely going to get a lot sexier, just to tease you all a bit. I've got very exciting ideas there~ I hope you all look forward to it, too. But as for Discovery and what we have so far, I've had to juggle a bit when it comes to bolstering all three pillars adequately. Because there's such a focus on the storytelling and size aspect, it's hard to have anything geared for being directly erotic. Unlike Endless where the giant was unhinged enough to do sexual things often, Discovery really prides itself on maturity and a somewhat more "realistic" environment, and this ideally makes the erotic aspects stronger, as the reader would be more attached to the characters and their consequences that they feel more invested in what they end up doing. I try not to bore the crowd that wants sexy things too much; I'd get bored too, so I try arrange some situations to be at least a bit sexy, or at least for the characters' sexuality to be explored. Duval and Sierra may not have a lot of interesting interactions directly, but what little they do have (ideally) feels real and grand.

So those are some thoughts on writing in general~ Thinking of these three pillars helps me structure stories a lot. You can easily go through just about any writing I've done and see where my priorities have been. Fandom stories and shorts tend to be focused on the erotic and size aspect, whereas longer stories may have stretches of storytelling elements, sweeps of time where I describe the world or histories, and details where I make room to explain the whys of size changing. Endless had a pretty good setup for all three to be balanced; you had the convenient size changing of curses, but embedded around a mystery, and put in the perspective of a sex-crazed monster. Maybe this advice can help out other writers! Depending on what experience you're trying to create, these three pillars may need to be considered higher or lower in their priority.

Discovery 4, though! Back to that, specifically. For this part, I really wanted to explore Duval rather than Sierra's obsession with Duval. After three parts of seeing Sierra fangirl over her overseer, I decided it was time that Duval got understood better, especially since I felt Part III left her on a bit of a confusing note regarding her emotions~ Hopefully this chapter clears up a lot of what she's feeling, since it follows her angle so purposefully.

Beyond just exploring Duval's headspace, I also wanted to change up these relatively "harmless" interactions that Discovery is sort of known for. Unlike conventional stories, Discovery's climaxes are a bit more mundane and down to earth, but it's easy to make them feel sweeping from a tiny perspective. My goal here was to express how Duval relates to these situations, seeing herself as a giant that's burdened with responsibility over so many people. The change of perspective really opened up what I could be describing, what elements to highlight. I hoped to have captured the conundrum Duval finds herself in, wanting to run free with her life while still conforming to the rules of her labs. The tension goes both ways~ I think, for some readers, that should make the story feel a little less uncomfortable, that both protagonists are yearning for each other and facing their own obstacles to accept that.

As more and more comes together, I get eager to see more of it progress~ Like I said, a Discovery 5 is definitely in the works and I'm excited to get to it. In the meantime, I have another grand story that I'll be sharing with you guys shortly! It's going to be a patron exclusive, so be ready for that~ It's something I've been working on for a year now, so you'll have quite a few updates to look forward to! As always, thank you thank you thank you everyone for your support~
