Upload Notes: Discovery - Part III (Patreon)

I am very happy to have this next selection finished and uploaded! Discovery's story continues with Sierra's exploits to receive that highly-prized attention. This writing is a real whopper~ I forgot that I uploaded Discovery originally into two parts, aaaaand this one isn't divided like that at all! I decided to simply upload the whole piece together, since there's no reason for me to keep that away from you guys. I actually almost titled it Discovery - Part II because of how badly I forgot~ In my heart, I do like to consider this "part II," but, I'm not gonna make things confusing.

This took a long while to get through, and not just because of its length. Recently, my hands developed some sort of rash that was gettin' pretty rough. It made typing kind of difficult, on top of the itching just being a huge distraction. Only the other day has it started to recover back into prime shape, thank fucking goodness~ It was pretty obnoxious~

But then as well as that, I also had a LOT of edits to make. At least four whole pages total had to be scrapped entirely, and quite a few more had to go back in the brain-oven. Two of those pages were simply in the wrong direction, where I portrayed Sierra too perverted -- she just goes wild on Duval, to a point where I was uncomfortable. That just isn't Sierra, you know~ so I had to rework the subject to be more of an accident, and I was much happier with that result. Sierra gets pervy, but only after she's been flushed into a fantastical situation. I also made some smaller changes to help with the flow and feel, like having Duval receive a phone call about the meeting versus how I originally just had her forget to mention it to Sierra; or dressing Sierra up into a hospital gown to help sell that sanitized lab aesthetic.

The beginning and end also needed some rewriting. The intro was actually going to have the subjects rock climbing a series of walls, but that concept was not only weird but basically what the last test experiment was... It just looked stupid! I thought swimming would be a realistic test while also being new. As for the ending, even now, I'm not completely satisfied with it, but if I sat around working on it, I'd never be done~ It's not terrible, but it isn't great.

(Do you folks enjoy this background look into my stories? I normally don't go over the process too much, but I think there's a lot of fun to be gleamed by seeing it worded out. Let me know what you think! I'll happily include more of this commentary if you guys want to see it~)

If you've read that far, though, you might be able to guess that this isn't the end to the story~ There's even more to Discovery to be discovered in the future! I still have grand ideas for Sierra and Duval, and I'd love to hear your thoughts too~ I really hope you all enjoy this selection and look forward to more!
