I’m back! & a few changes… (Patreon)

First of all, happy new year! May 2021 bring some calm after the rollercoaster that 2020 was.

That said, I’m ready to continue creating more preggo content. After taking a break, I was able to evaluate what things limited my ability to be creative and ultimately drove me to a block. If I’m being honest, I wasn’t enjoying my time during the last few weeks previous to my break and instead felt pressured to create something in time for the schedule I imposed on myself. This caused me to be unhappy with the work that I was putting out on most occasions and feeling that I could have done better. Inspiration can’t be forced after all.

Because of this, there are a few changes that I’d like to implement that will hopefully help me create without too much strain on my part. This will be a long read, so to make things as easy as possible, I will divide each change by category/topic. Buckle up!

Upload Schedule – As mentioned before, this is the main reason I became unhappy with the work I was putting out. Having to create, render and upload an image every two weeks (Fridays) plus an exclusive image at the end of the month was something that slowly became a problem and interfered with my creativity and my IRL responsibilities. Therefore, I’ve decided to remove this self-imposed schedule and will instead let inspiration work its way when it comes to creating. That said, there are some goals I would still like to meet. I will try my best to provide at least one original image per month (2 when possible) as well as the guaranteed monthly exclusive image. This original image will spontaneously be previewed and uploaded at any point during the month. It will be like receiving a package from Wish.com! I already have a few things lined up that I’m excited to start working with.

As for the rewards…

Early Access – This was one of the rewards that I’ve been thinking is a bit unnecessary, and that could be replaced for something better. I understand that receiving early access to content can be satisfactory, but in my eyes, it doesn’t seem substantial enough. There’s also the fact that all images have to be “double uploaded” (first to Patreon and then two weeks later to DA). That isn’t that much of an issue, but it’s a little annoying to manage. In the end, I’ve decided that the Early Access reward shouldn’t continue to be offered.

With no Early Access reward, what will be offered in its place?

WIP Previews – That’s right, previews would become the new base reward for all patrons. If you think about it, previews are an early access look with the benefit of being able of sharing your feedback and potentially improve the end result! However, WIP Previews of Patreon Exclusives would not be offered in the Showing ($1) tier. I’m hoping this change will bring more value to your patronage experience, as well as to create more engagement.

But wait, Previews were an exclusive reward for the Full-Term ($5) tier, what now?

More Voting Power – In exchange for the Previews reward becoming the base, Full-Term ($5) tier supporters would now be able to cast a second round of votes when participating in the character and idea selection polls. This idea was suggested for a potential new tier, but I’ve decided to implement it here instead. I’m hoping this will be a satisfactory replacement.

Those are quite the changes, anything else?

Discord Access – With the Mid-term ($3) reward tier now receiving the full WIP Preview package, all supporters of this tier would be welcome to join the server. This is also intending to improve the experience and engagement.

Extras – No big changes here. Full-Term ($5) tier supporters will still receive the alternate angles plus the casual unreleased/test render. However, I’d like to create a separation between the two, so the alternate angles would be their own reward called (you guessed it) Alternate Angles. All other extras would fall under the (you guessed it again) Extras reward.

Ongoing projects – This is a big one for me. I must admit I’ve neglected all of my ongoing projects in my struggle to keep up with the pressure of the upload schedule. It is also true that I also started way too many of them at a time thinking I was going to be able to manage, which added to the problem. I am committed to finishing every single one, so from this point forward I will focus on one project at a time. This will allow me to concentrate and finish them as soon as possible.

The Patreon Exclusive Comic – Yes, I haven’t forgotten about it. A few months back, the goal was met to create this comic. However, I had my hands full at the time (still do, as discussed before) and promised to get to it once a certain comic was released (did some say Night of Impregnation?). I’m looking forward to this project and I’m sorry if I disappointed you, but you’ll have to wait for just a little longer so I can bring some of those ongoing projects to an end before tackling this one.

Finally…

These changes are planned to start taking effect on January 11.
