K – “Hi Rebecca. It’s been awhile…”

R – “What the hell are you doing here? Wait, let me guess. Scouting the campus for a few new girls that you can use? Were the ones from your new college not enough of a challenge? Or did they all get sick of your bullshit too?”

K – “No, Becca, I’m… I came back here for you. We need to talk.”

R – “You came back for me? Is that a joke? You completely disappeared for months and months and ignored all my messages. Get out of here, I’m not interested in whatever you have to say anymore.” 

K – “Listen, I saw that you changed your number. I just…I wanted to know how the baby is doing.”

R – “Oh, so now you care? Well, guess what? You’re too fucking late. I’ve moved on.”

K – “Becca, please, I know I made a big mistake, but give me the chance to make things right…”

R – “You told me I ruined your life! You abandoned me when I needed you the most! And now you just think you can re-appear and act as nothing happened?! Well let me tell you something shithead, I’m raising my baby without you. Now get away from me.” 

K – “Becca…what’s happened to you?”

R – “Are you serious? Quit calling me Becca. I’m done, we’re done. Go away! This is your last chance before I call the fucking cops.”

It’s amazing how much your life can change over one year. Things were never supposed to be this way, or so I thought. I discovered that the happiest time in my life had all been a lie. At a time when I was at my most vulnerable, I had the rug pulled out from beneath me. I would eventually learn some hard truths and need to pull myself up from rock bottom. When I thought hope had been lost, I managed to dig deep and find my way again.
