I've been asked recently about the Discord server, so I wanted to give you some news.

During the project, I had decided to nuke the server because I wasn't satisfied of how it went, and wasn't feeling confident in managing a server. It happened around when I finished the animation phase of Lecture Session. I was exhausted and needed some change.

But now taking some steps back, I think it's a shame not to use Discord's advantages. I know it's a convenient way to get in touch and share things simply. I just need to accept that it can't always be active, especially without me making it attractive and welcoming...!

All this to say that I'm willing to try again, and do my best to bring a warmer place.

I've started rebuilding a new server. It should be ready to open in a couple of days.

Here's the thing about discord. Once you get it running, depending on the channels and sections, the community will provide content or chat as time goes on. You don't have to be active every day, or post a picture/update every day. Many of the creators I follow on discord only say something once every two days or so. Just keep a channel for work in progresses, maybe QaA's, or anything else you may want to be involved with, and only pop in when you feel you can. Ignore those who complain if you aren't as active as they want. It's your discord, your patreon, your work that we come here for. You have to remember that you've got hundreds of us, each with different schedules and wants. There's absolutely no way you can adhere to each person, so don't over do yourself trying. As for welcoming; I'll tell you the truth. 80% of people will just skim over the welcoming stuff. And if there's members who are acting out of line or anything you wouldn't approve of, other Members can ping you (or mods you designate) to handle it. Set up some basic rules if you need to, but otherwise it will be active even if you aren't.

I needed to hear this, thank you. Actually, I never had any complain from anyone about a lack of activity. My mind just made it up itself, or I started believing something was wrong, although there wasn't. And yeah I guess I can't put myself too much into the server, since I'm busy most of the time. Things were good as they were already. And most importantly, it must feel natural and sincere. I don't think I'd want to fake any interaction, just for the sake that "I T N E E D S". Screw you, brain.
