I haven't put out a t-shirt design for a while. I sell shirts and other merch on my threadless shop. Threadless is a print on demand platform where an artist can upload a design and then they take care of everything else. Printing, customer service, shipping. They take the majority of what you make. But I just think of it like passive income. Sort of.

I barely make any money on threadless. We're talking like 5 dollars a month. Maybe. But I like that someone can wear my art on a t shirt. I just love t-shirts but hate the headache of having to keep inventory, and do shipping and all of that.

Anyways. I've become kind of picky about the art I put on the t-shirts on there. If I just upload a digitized version of a painting sometimes the color is off and it just looks weird.

I personally like a black t-shirt with a white graphic. And I wanted to make shirts that I actually want to wear.

Plus, a simple white graphic takes all the guess work out of it. It's going to look exactly how I want it to on the shirt.

So I make my life more difficult by doing a pen and ink drawing of the painting I want to use.

Then I take it into photoshop and eliminate everything except for the white graphic. then I upload it.

Hmm. Now that I'm trying to explain it in words I think this might be an interesting video idea.

Anyway. This is one of the new shirt designs I'll probably make a few more. If you have any suggestions of paintings I did last year that I should make shirts out of, let me know!

Great idea with the shirts. I made a big mistake some years back doing some classic rock images in a drip pop art style, instead of just getting Lemmy, Jimi, Ozzy and perhaps Alice Cooper, I went ahead and ordered t shirt in all of them and had the problem withany of them being off with colour. I still have a large box of them now and because I try to keep the quality up I think I'll forever be stuck with Iggy, Ozzy, Zappa and more for eternity. Thanks for the tip, I like yourself just like seeing people wearing an image of mine on a T shirt, especially as my partner has well in excess of 450 really good ones, political but mainly bands, mine have to be pretty decent to make it out of the cupboard and on chest.
