Going Back in time part II (Patreon)

Here's some more drawings from 2014 that I"m revisiting. I was doing these antler figures a lot.

I went way back in time on my instagram to see if I had posted any clues as to what was going on in my head at the time. I just said "I like giving people antlers and giving people animal characteristics because we're all animals at least in spirit." 

I clearly remember doing this one in a hotel room when I was visiting my hometown for Christmas. There was a blizzard going on outside.

So I just wanted to take these characters and give them some form. 

I started by putting some twigs on this model head that I have and doing some compositional thumbnail sketches.

I realized after three sketches that I was missing the facial expression from the 2014 drawings. So I took some pictures of myself making crazy faces in dramatic lighting, which I'm too embarrassed to post.

Then I did some drawings just trying to capture the expression. 

Then I did a more comprehensive sketch

I'm going to transfer it to a panel and this is another potential submission for the "Resit" Prompt. Submissions are due March 5th!
