I started making my own sketchbook because I like to use different papers for different things.

Sketch paper for doodling ideas, toned paper for doing value studies, mixed media and watercolor paper for watercolor studies.

Instead of having 4 different sketchbooks I like that I can put them all in one place.

I use what is called coptic stitching to put together my sketchbooks. It's pretty simple. I learned how to do it from this video.

The cover is made out of the cardboard backing of one of the pads of paper.

The ones I made aren't much to look at, but you can go down book binding rabbit holes on YouTube to learn about ways to class them up a bit.

I've been watching this channel. It's very satisfying to watch and it tempts to get into yet another craft that I have no real time for.

I just do it quick and dirty.

In addition to being able to use a variety of papers, I also like that this method of stitching allows the book to lay flat when you work in it.

I'm excited to fill this book with sketches!

Here's the first ones I did (yep I'm getting back into working on this piece.)

Happy February 10th Everybody

I'm going to eat pizza with my sister tonight. I'm excited about that.

Honestly all day I've been very unmotivated to do anything.

I feel the need to update the need to update my Patreon and my YouTube pages. Because I have to start bringing in more Choir members. But I just couldn't bring myself to get into it today.

All I wanted to do was play guitar and take naps.

I talked with my friend on the phone. We went to film school together. There were a bunch of crazy people who went to our film school.

And by crazy, I mean: there was a guy who got naked and started pointing a gun at his neighbor at his apartment complex.

We were working on a set in his apartment. The neighbor complained about the noise. This guy was drunk. He took off his clothes. Went over to the neighbor's door with this gun drawn and started pounding on the door. The neighbor opened the door, saw the gun, slammed the door and later the cops came.

When the cops got there this guy from our film school was drinking whiskey out of a mason jar with a blanket over his shoulders and still no clothes on.

I had bonus cash rewards for Michaels that expired today. 5 dollars. so I went in and got a mechanical pencil. I'm looking forward to trying it out on the sketchbook I made.

Have fun

Goodnight Sweeties
