Here’s some watercolor sketches I did recently. If you can call them that. These were to force myself to paint when I really didn’t want to. In a way they’re automatic paintings where I just mindlessly picked up the paint with the brush and put it down on the paper a bunch of times.

Sometimes this trick works sometimes it doesn’t. But if you don’t want to paint, just starting can sometimes lead you somewhere worth going. Sometimes starting is half the battle.

Even when it doesn’t work out that way, it’s still worth it in my opinion.

For me, I’ll admit, after I did a these I thought “this slump is worse than I thought.” Lol

But here’s the ultimate truth about it: no one cares. It doesn’t matter. It’s just paint.

That’s what I mean by making bad art. It’s better than no art.

I’m writing this to myself just as much as to all of you. Because I really am not feeling the spirit of the art gods right now.
