Here’s the other commission I’m working on at the moment.

I did a painting based on some perspective sketches I did for the intro to drawing bad art course.

The idea was to show that perspective isn’t just useful for buildings, cars, furniture and other subjects with straight edges. It’s also good for noodly, blobby, organic forms.

Anyway, I enjoyed the sketches I did for that. So I did a painting.

I met a collector at the Hive and she was interested in the painting but couldn’t get it that night. A few weeks later someone bought it through my website and the very next day the first collector reached out about buying it.

I told her it sold and she asked for a commission. So here it is.

I wish I took more progress shots. But again I’m filming the whole process so I’ll share that when I’m done.

I did some preliminary sketches for this and used some tracing paper, photoshop and a projector to the the forms right. Kind of an interesting process on this one.
