This is the second lesson about Form. In the first lesson we talked about how to break complex subjects down into bigger geometric forms, how to combine forms, how to manipulate the basic forms.

This builds on that manipulation. When drawing things from reference, some times it's not intuitive what geometric form to use. The elements of some subjects will vary, or not be as identifiable as the human mannequin.

Most of these things exist in nature. Insects, mollusks, liquids, goo etc. For these things, it can be more simple to draw the organic shapes first, then add form to the shapes.

When drawing from imagination, or abstractly, creative doodling as I call it, you can really have fun with these organic shapes. and in turn, you can get a better feel for the forms.
