I expected more advice from Mari when I got home to her apartment after work, but she wasn’t there. In fact, she still wasn’t there when I woke up the next morning. It gave me plenty on time to think about what she had said.

I knew what I enjoyed doing before the Great Shift, which often involved going to bars and drinking with friends. There was no reason I couldn’t continue doing that. I was sure I could pull it off with Mari’s body, even if she was a little older than I had been. I even found the perfect thing to wear in the back of her closet. I couldn’t wear it to the office, of course; I’d have to wait until tonight.

It got even wilder when I confronted Mari about why she didn’t come home last night. She had met a woman the other night, and spent the evening at her place! I didn’t think she swung that way, and maybe before the Shift she didn’t! It made me wonder if I had Mari’s orientation now...
