I don’t think anyone planned to get much work done on the day after the Great Shift (yep, the day after and we had already resigned ourselves to using that name), but it felt good to maintain routine and continue social transactions.

The first thing I noticed when I got into the elevator was how short I felt! I had been wearing Mari’s heels yesterday when I left, but now I was in sneakers and stood at Mari’s 5’2” height.

I was also a little apprehensive about what I had chosen to wear at first. So many people still wore typical business attire. That is, until I realized many people were simply wearing the same things they wore yesterday. At least my sweatshirt was clean!

Ultimately, it was good to talk to people besides Mari again. It was really nice for her to help me out and let me stay with her, but I think there was going to be a lot more long, empty silences when we are together, and I’m not sure how much I was going to be able to stand it.
