Ryan had never enjoyed shaving his face. It was one of those daily tasks that he found infuriating. He didn’t think growing a beard was a better option either. He tried it a few times; he found it itchy and annoying. He would often look at women and envy their smooth, hairless skin.

When he swapped into a woman’s body as a result of the Great Shift, he thought it would be a dream come true. When he mentioned not having to shave anymore, his girlfriend laughed. He didn’t understand why at first.

It was his armpits where he first noticed it, small tufts of hair beginning to grow. His girlfriend explained that most women still shaved all sorts of body parts -- she asked why he thought they advertised women’s razors on television. Ryan had never really thought about it.
