Hello everyone!
God, it's already month 3 when it comes to development for Tiinn inn. I suck terribly at making these development blogs ;-; But a lot has been done behind the scenes, and I'd like to inform everyone on the progress!
For starters, we've made decisions as to how we're going to work on the game, and what engine to use. The general overarching story of the game is also summarized, and I've started writing the in-depth script for the game. At the same time, I also try to juggle renders and other assets for the game, such as finding sound effects, background music etc. I've now got a library of over 88 GB of royalty free music and sound effects that I can use for the game to make it as immersive and unique as possible.
So a few things are now ready to go, and whilst I also did some general experimentation with our engine (RPG Maker MV), we will now start on a first initial build of the game. This means we'll be creating a first, initial sandbox version of the game, where you will be able to first experience the mob events in the game.
To elaborate further; We've decided upon having two kinds of GTS encounters in the game. The first one would be general mob events (random giantesses that roam around as enemies), which will have a library of encounters. The second kind of event will be lengthier, and will have to be completed to progress through the story of the game. The mob events will be more general in nature, whilst the story events will be more descriptive, with more pictures and in-depth story.
As I mentioned, we will first create a sandbox version of the game, where everyone will be able to experience the mob-events we have planned. We like to use this version as a skeleton for the rest of the game, which we can continuously add to; from more mob-events to story and more maps. We hope to have this sand-box version playable for everyone somewhere this summer. An eventual release date will follow as we get nearer to finishing it.
Before going to the roadmap, I'd like to leave you today with a plot summary of the game:
After exploring an abandoned shrine, you suddenly find yourself transported to a mysterious Ryokan, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Unsure what to do, you enter, and ring the bell at the reception. The owner of the Ryokan, Caroline, seems just a little too intrigued by you... and as she instructs you to wait for her staff to take care of you, you pass out...
Ordinary humans never leave Tiinn-inn, the passageway to worlds. Humans that enter, get shrunk and will never leave. Together with the others who have entered before you, you must find a way to get back to your normal size, whilst dodging the guests of the Ryokan, who see you as nothing more than a form of entertainment / food.
